I have a Jabra BT500V. It does not switch on and not charging. How do I replace the battery.

I have a brand new one with the same problem I contacted Jabra Support in AU on 1800 636 086 They advise that it is dead batery if yeaft for a very long time with out charge the batery will die and will not charge.

If its under waranty they will advise to send it back to them and repalces it with a new 2008 model.

Another isssue is look at the date, on the side of the box. My brand new one said 20/07 indicating it had been on the shelf 1 year before it was shipped.

Check the date on the side of the box if it is one just purchaced. I had the same problem both new. the date on my box said 20/07 indicting it is 1 year old and sat on the shelf for that time.
Like any battery it will die .

If you just bought it and have the sale docket contact the Jabra Support number in your country they may repalcer it with a 2008 model.

Unfortunately the little lithium cells that they put in headsets have to have some charge left in them to communicate with the charging device if they go completely flat they will not take a charge. I've heard of people jump starting them with a 1.5 volt AA cell and two wires, but you have to be able to get to the battery first. If you can connect the plus to the plus and the neg to the neg for at least 2 minutes then try with the charger again. Otherwise just replace the battery. I just replace the batteries but I see alot of people on these forums praising the jump start method so I threw it in. Good Luck!

Paring the JABRA head set to Mobile phone


1. Turn headset off. Press and hold until solid light comes on.
2. Activate Bluetooth on your phone.
3. Search for Bluetooth devices and select Jabra BT500V.
4. Press ‘OK’ on the phone ,If the phone asks for a PIN then confirm with PIN code 0000 (4 zeros)
