SOURCE: Roper washer leaves clothes wet after spin cycle.

Thanks, Master Tech; I was having the same problem as Jason. When I put the pen in place, I realized that the motor was running, but the tub wasn't spinning (which I thought it was because of the sound of the motor). So, I put my hand in and gave it a push/spin and it started turning on its own after I did that.. So, I'm going to let it run and see what happens when the cycle is done. At least its a start in the right direction!

SOURCE: clothes are still wet after high spin

I always ask for clarification 2Pleach if I can’t decode from the trouble description if the machine type is a FAV6800A/FAV9800A. I know what forum I’m in….. Why shoot from the hip…..Sometimes I can and will offer a solution without asking for the Mdl# - s/n if I see enough key words in the trouble description.

This Best Services board doesn't ask the forum member for Model# or S/N as a normal DIY board should.

lorraine97ca See this Clutch repair post for the fix action if you have those machine types and want to DIY. 2Pleach please see my profile under dh1200s and FAV6800AWDIY along with my ratings for my many hundreds of post at no $ gain to me. I have spent many hundreds of personnel time to support others. But I do enjoy the challenge that’s the only reason I bother.

Just a fellow owner trying to help other owners save a $1K machine from bulk trash pick up. **** --- Rich

Machine won't spin out the water in the clothes, has to be wrung by hand..What would you think the part is that's holding this up?

Check the washer lid safety switch . Sounds like it is a simple switch for when you close the lid it allows to spin only when lid is closed. It is a safety switch for spinning to not operated if lid is open durring spinning cycle. It's maybe a 20 dollar part and easy install.

I have a kenmore 80 series and its not spinning out the water.

does it drain out the water and spin but the clothes are still wet or is it not draining or spinning?set the timer to spin, open the lid and stick a screw driver into the lid switch hole and see if it spins and drains, also if it doesn't push down and let the switch up,or close the lid down and open it a little do this a few times, you should hear the switch make a clicking sound,if it doesn't click you have a bad lid switch.if the machine is draining and spinning but the clothes are wet,do the same thing with the lid switch and watch it spin with the lid open,is it spinning fast,if not you have a bad transmission and it's not spinning fast enough to remove the water out of the clothes or you could have a kink in the drain hose or something in the pump and it's not draining all the way.let me know what you find and send the model number off of the washer, the number should start with like 110.

It sounds as if the machine doesn't spin during the spin cycle. Normally the agitator stops spinning, fairly quickly, if the lid is opened during the spin cycle. That safety circuit includes a switch mounted under the opening and is set by a tab on the lid that protrudes thru a small hole in the top of the washer. The most likely failure on most Kenmore models is that switch, broken or loose, the tab on the lid broken, or the two misaligned. I would need the model number of your washer, located on a tag on the bottom of the lid to be more specific

Tub sometimes will not spin to wring out clothes.

Sounds like the machine is not pausing between cycles to allow the transmission to lock into spin.

BOSCH washdryer WVF2402GB/02 - not spinning clothes

Remove the kicking plate on the front-bottom of the machine. You will see o circular lid there, turn it on anti-clockvise to open. All of the water blocked will come from there, be careful. Look carefully that there are some objects blocking the water draining. Then turn on the machine on draining programme, the plastic rotor should turn fastly when the machine is on. If it is not running, change the pump motor. If it is running, but machine is not draining again you can understand that there is an objeck stuck on the hose between drum and pump motor. Lay down the machine on its rear facade, you will see a large and black hose between drum and pump motor. When you remove it, you will see that there is something that blocks water running. Good luck :)

Spinning doesn't take place during spin cycle

One possible problem is the door interlock switch. This switch prevents spinning when the door/lid is open. If the switch is bad (open/off all the time) it sends a false signal that the door is open and washer will not spin.

Does the machine just sit there when it's not spinning or does it sound like it's trying to spin but can't?
