Vicks Warm Mist V745A 1 Gallon Humidifier Logo

LEAKS Hello I just bought my humidifier yesterday and used it all night with no problem. Today I filled it up and left for class. When I got home, I noticed the tank was empty. I asked my boyfriend if he had knocked it over, since it should be nowhere near empty. He said no. The floor was soaking wet. I mopped it up with a towel, and then took it apart and cleaned all the gunk out. I was positive this would solve the problem. Filled it up again, started it. It ran for a good hour or so before again, it started leaking water all over the place. Any ideas?? I can't find my reciept!

I had the same problem. I put it on in the night and a couple hours later the people from the basement complained that water is coming through their ceiling. It was the humidifier. I cleaned it and tried it again but had the same problem made the carpet wet almost gone all the water out of it. It worked for a couple times in the first place when i bhought it but now it's just loosing the water somehow. Do not know what went wrong.. Any suggestions??? Now i guess i need to buy an other kind...

We have had the same thing happen. I have noticed that ours only does it when it is not running. I noticed water leaks down the front side where the water bowl meet the upper corner of the temp dial.

Have had the V745A since 12/1/08. (12/13 post) Unit leaks from the bottom reservoir and runs down the switch cover. Ran great on day one. The next day the unit leaked all over the floor. Took it apart, re-assembled and unit did not leak. Tonight, it will not stop leaking. I cannot figure this out to save my life. NOT HAPPY VICKS. You better get on a solution. Someone telling me to buy a new tank with a 12 day old unit is NOT the answer. I did not spend $42 for a wet floor, my 3 year old will wet the floor for free.

Just purchased, used that night and worked great. Next night, started leaking. Next night, entire tank emptied out, all over dresser, onto the floor and down through the basement. Very unhappy with this product.

Try to just fill the tank with water and set it upright on a table. If it leaks, the tank is cracked and needs to be replaced. Order one at kaz.com (search using model#). I have had this tank leak if the special cap is not sitting properly on the base. Make sure that the steam tower is properly locked in place before you place the water tank in the reservoir. The cap on the tank has a spring release that has to be correctly lined up so it only releases water when the water level in the reservoir drops.

The problem is the tank has a small leak, since it loses its vacuum the water leaks into the overflow chamber of the base. If there is any water in the unit after you shut if off it will eventually leak out from the base. I have 3 units and 2 of them have had tanks leak, be carefull when you fill them, they crack easy and can even leak where the white handle is attached. Unit has 3 yr warranty, Kaz will send you a new tank if you email them or call.

Good luck,
I'm thinking about upgrading to a different style, they are selling them on their website for $27 which isn't a bad deal.

Keep it empty or remove it from the base , when NOT in use.

My air innovations keeps on beeping when the reservoir is filled

Hello... this humidifier uses timer? then, some humidity has damaged the circuitry. Try to disassemble as far as your skills permit; then put the unit outside of home in a place where the sun and wind can dry this device. And try to use destiled water if is not expensive in your area.

Honeywell HCM-305T Spits droplets rather than creating a mist.

Thanks for your question,
Sounds to me like you have something partially cloging the misting nozzle, if you can take the nozzle off, and check it I would bet there is something that got in there, if you cant, it might be better to just return the Humidifier where purchased for an exchange, if you can get the nozzle off, if you have a can of compressed air like they sell for dusting off computers, I would use a very short burst of that in the nozzle, and in the feed line, thanks again for your question, let me know how it works out,

Very little water left/ fills up and leaks

**With the unit unplugged**
the float sensor is probably getting sticky with residue and buildup (lime, grime, etc). Try cleaning the little float and that area. It should move easily when clean.

Moisture not coming out

i realize this answer is a year old; but, i would guess you didn't let the wick become saturated before running. fill the resevoir with water, then let the humidifier sit idle while the wick is saturating. when it is completely saturated, the refill light will go off. refill the resevoir with additional water, as needed. then you can run the humidifier.

Filling humidifier

On the Vicks v-3100 the water tank should lift off of the unit. Flip it over and there is a lid. Open the lid and fill the tank. Once you've filled it back up, put the lid back on. Flip the tank over to make sure there are no leaks, then put it back on the humidifier.

Note: It's very important to check to make sure the tank isn't leaking before you put it back on the humidifier, if it is, it will flood the reservoir, in turn causing water to leak out of the bottom of the humidifier (which is one of the major complaints about the 3100).
