browse the HTC website and navigate to download section from there download and install HTC sync manager for HTC Wildfire relevant to your Operating System. The Sync Manager suite include the required drivers so you do not have to install them seprately as HTC provides them in a bundle.

There might be something missing with the drivers on your computer. You should try first reinstalling the HTC Sync software. If that does not work then try searching for a "driver" for your phone online. I have seen in forums that people have had a hard time finding the necessary driver, but maybe soon HTC will have an updated one available.
Hopefully just reinstalling the program will work though.

Just visit this HTC Eris Software Downlaod page : http://www.htc.com/us/support/droid-eris-verizon/downloads/, download the software and run it. The drivers will be automatically installed along with the software.

click the start button / select the very bottom of the menu / select the middle sub setting / scroll down to the globe (regional settings) and select which language you want.
