Transend jetflash pendrive 256MB showing error that it has malfunctioned...

I would suspect your pendrive has failed. It may be the pendrive connector has broken. Or the memory has finally had enough- Flash memory only has a limited number of times it can be written to until it stops working. And as no one has been making 1GB sticks for a good while now, it has probably had its lot. Just to be sure try and move the USB connector VERY GENTLY. to see if the connector has broken. then try it in a different computer. if it is still the same throw it in the bin and buy a new one. The connectors are repairable but it will cost more than a new stick.

it may be due to malfunctioning of your USB port, just try to plug out and then plug it into another Port

Click > Start > RUN > type "CMD" Then
Type "CHKDSK" and type o your Pendrive and "/F". Ex. chkdsk Q: /F > Enter
Ok, You see many msg error. OK!
Now, you remove your pendrive and plug again.
Try to format.

that my friend its a problem with the firmware, try the usb in other equipment, if the problem persists in other equipements you might be more specific with the problem, if this message appears when you insert your usb on the port and recognize it and then appear the error could be that your pc doesnt have the controllers of the usb ports, (maybe was deleted by error) try also with anoter usb devices to make sure of the malfunction of your usb controllers in your pc...

Dont worry much about that, it's the way your PC recognises the device. you can rename the drive if you want in my computer

it is because your USB port is not working and has malfuctioned you should try inserting your pendrive on other ports

you can replace your usb port, or YOU CAN USE YOUR PENDRIVE IN ANOTHER COMPUTER, by which you will come to know that whether your USB port is OK or not.
