Sounds like once power was disconnected when the battery was dead and charged, the computer system must be re-learned. Needs professional tech with the knowledge and proper equipment.
Starter problems are very common on these V-8 engines, even though it may test good on the bench it doersn't mean it's going to work in the engine everytime since the becch test doesn't have the load of turning the engine, I would not trust this starter in this case because of all the work involved in removing it again.
sounds like the fuel pump or regulator issue. fuel is draining back to the tank. try turning the ignition on and off 3 times without cranking the engine, then try to start it. If that works, replace the pump assembly, filter and regulator. airtex or delphi makes a great replacement alternative to an actual toyota part, and is much less money. Happy Motoring.
