I hacked it with a code to be region free. Now it only seems to play region 2. hack won't work anymore.
also, now it sometimes hangs up on a frame/scene, moves on for a few seconds, then hangs again, etc. etc. Normally this is after it has been on for a while.

If you got the code its not a hack cause these codes are given out to those that request them when a person moves out of country its easy to change region just contact local provider of the devices you want to change regions they will give you the codes for regions

If you suffer from region code troubles, you can download a region free DVD player software tool on your pc and then you can play discs of any regions you want. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Player which is a free Blu-ray player and a region free player.
The following works on a
region 4 player. With no disc in the player and the drawer closed,
press stop, stop, setup, then 3,8,8,8,3 and the desired region code, (0
for multiregion). Nothing will appear on screen. Then switch the player
off and back on. It should now play discs for any region
You can only change the region code 4 times then it locks on the last change.
There are some firmware upgrades that can change the drive to region free, if you can screw it up or put in the wrong frmware upgrade then the DVD drive will be a piece on junk.
I suggest you install a region free software that will allow you to play and region DVDs.
Go to www.dvdidle.com to get their Region-Free software, it is not very expensive.
There are 7 different regions 0 is region free and 1-6 are country codes. Your region 2 and america is region 1 so this is why the player isn't working with your discs. Usually you can hack/overide the region setting on some DVD players. Sometimes this can be done with the remote but sometimes the player has to be modded. This link will take you to a hack page for audiovox players. If theres a hack for your player then it'll be there.
Get in contact with a Wharfedale authorised dealer to do this one. It requires a Blackberry interface, and specail programming, if this set will accomodate the change...accordianman
To make region free: * Open the drawer Press 0, 1, 2, 3, Play in sequence on the remote control Play a region 1, 2 ,3 ,4 or any other region to see if the hack has worked!
The disc drawer can obscure the Infra-Red sensor when open, so ensure that you compensate for this when entereing the hack.
You can also return the player to Region 2 only mode using the following sequence:
* Open the drawer * Press ZOOM * Press RETURN * Press POWER
I picked up a LG DV276 DVD Player here in Australia but I am from the
United States so I own region 1 DVDs. I unlocked my new player by
instead 1. Open the tray. 2. Press 0 0 0 0 on the remote and a Menu
will appear. 3. Press 0 for region free. 4. Press pause and power off.
I can play everything now, Aussie and US DVDs. Thanks LJ66.
