Exact same problem. I've swapped it to a 17in Planar on that same computer and its fine so its the 2010M that has the issue. Funny thing is it displays the image for maybe 1/8th of a second then goes black but you can clearly see the video from the computer during that time

same thing. When it flashes off, I can press the power button off then right back on, the screen comes on then blinks off. I can go into programs REALLY fast if I am ready to look and get my currser to it before it goes black again and when I turn it back on, the program I pulled up is still on the screen.

thesimulacre: I have been trying to open this same monitor to check for blown caps that I can replace, as I'm having the same problem. How did you get yours open? I have removed all of the screws, but it is still stuck solidly together. I don't want to break it.

Usually bad caps on the power board. I can guide you through it if you have some soldering experience or I can fix it for shipping + tip to colorado.

Since you have tried another monitor with your computer, then we can only assume that your LCD monitor had gone bad.
If the light is green but you can't see anything on the screen, then most likely the backlight has gone bad. Unless you want to take the monitor apart, I would suggest buying a new monitor.

The monitor either won't turn on or it flashes off

Your monitor has been dying over the last two or three months. Unless you have a local repair shop that will work on monitors, it's time to replace it.

Lg flatron w2234s monitor is flashing ??

I am going to suggest if it's only 3 months old you should take it back to where you bought it. Mine quit working right a few weeks after I bought it and they gave me a new one. Be sure you take your receipt with you. Even new things can mess up.

Monitor problem

It's turns blue to power safe mode (yellow) it's prevent futher damaged to your monitor. It's seems you got a busted backlight inverter. Need to replaced a new one...Since you only got it for a few months, send it back to Acer for a replacement of a new backlight inverter... Have a nice day!

Same problem

It may be the back plane lamps, and or the back plane power supply that is in a failing condition. If in your model they are changeable, they should be changed together.

You can verify this by turning on the monitor, feeding it with a known working source, and shine a flashlight in to the screen at an offset angle to your view. If you can see some image in the screen, then you know that the monitor itself is functioning, and the problem is back plane lumination.
