Hi there,

Well the error E1 message indicates that the thermistor is defective and needs to be replaced.
Try unplugging the unit for a few minutes got rid of the error, but lately the temperature just hasn't been hot enough so the clothes don't dry. You must need to replace the thermistor for full working of your dryer. you may please follow the below steps to know how to change the thermistor -
1. Locate the thermistor on the top right hand side of your dryer. This will be a small platelet with a chip and wires coming out of it. Use your screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the thermistor on the unit.
2. Unplug the wires from the thermistor.
3. Plug the wires into your new thermistor. Replace the thermistor on the dryer and the screws holding it in place.
4. Replace the back panel of the dryer and plug your dryer back into the wall outlet.
5. Push your dryer back up against the wall and turn it on again.

E1 error

The fault code E1 means the electronic control detected the thermistor is open. It's either the wire harness connecting the thermistor and electronic control is broken or the connection is loose or the thermistor is indeed open. Measure the resistance of the thermistor then refer to the temperature and resistance table for the normal thermistor resistance values. My kenmore dryer is blinking e1 can you tell me what the prolbem is.

I have a Kenmore Electric HE3 dryer that displays the E1 error code. My husband is good at fixing just about anything so he wants to fix this himself. Is this the Thermistor? Where is it located?

HE3 dryer stops drying with code E1

Hi, how are ya?

The E1 is a thermistor problem. It's a little black fuse that's next to the thermal fuse on the duct housing.

It's pretty easy to fix. You need to take the bottom pannel off and then the black blower housing.

Good luck :)

I am getting an E1 fault

Hi,

An E1 error message usually indicates that the thermistor is defective and needs to be replaced. Without that part working properly, the electronic control could do unexpected things.

Thanks.

I constantly got E1 Error code on my Kenmore Elite H3 GAS dryer

E1 error code indicates an open thermistor or open thermistor circuit. A thermistor is a component that relays the temperature in the dryer to the control board. If the thermistor has failed, Error code E1 will be displayed.
You need to call a repair person to fix it.
