Perhaps remove the bobbin case and check that you have put it back correctly. Check with the sewing machine manual to see how it is done correctly. Make sure that the top of the bobbin case is at the top of the bobbin case holder and make sure you change the needle as it will probably be dull or bent from hitting the metal of the bobbin case.

The needle keeps colliding with bobbin case

If the needle hits the bobbin case, it may break the tip of the needle. This usually happens if the bobbin case is not placed correctly. After cleaning your sewing machine, you may fail to put back the bobbin case into its original alignment.

This sounds like your metal plate needs adjustment. Loosen the screws and adjust it until the needle goes all the way down. If that doesnt work, ensure that your bobbin case has been aligned properly.

I am having trouble loading the bobbin case...when I load it, the needle hits metal, rather than catching the bottom thread. Please help.

When you open the front where the bobbin goes in, is the bobbin case spinning around loosley or is it fixed in position. It sounds as if it has not been put back in properly. Take it out and hold the spring clip which stops the bobbin falling out of the bobbincase. Hold it tight and put it oooover the spindle lining up the bit for the notch. Only let go when it is firmly in position. Also check your needle. Put in a new needle and make sure its in the correct way-it may be the needle which is the problem. If you took the "race" apart where the bobbin goes it may not be put back correctly and this could cause it-however-this is only the case if the flywheel won't turn.

Needle hitting metal casing .. Singer Futura CE 200

It happend to me aswell , not getting the source of the problem!
Then I noticed that the bobbin casing was out of the original position, take the whole casing out and make sure that when you put it back that the small metal tension loop at the front side on the right is correct, this image you can see in your handbook, (placement of the bobbin casing)

Needle is hitting the round , turning case that revolves around the bobbin

It sounds like your timing is off because what you're describing is exactly what happened to me last summer. I took it to a sewing machine repair shop and they repaired the problems, gave it a nice cleaning and it was like new when it came home. But it took two weeks (not a lot of repair shops around here) and that was torture as it's my only machine!!! :)

Bobbin Case

I'm having a similar problem today. I took out the bobbin case and when I went to put it back in, the whole system locks up. I've tired cleaning, changing needle taking the metal plate and piece that holds bobbin case out and put it all back in after cleaning. Nothing. My symptom is I can't get a complete stitch, the needle goes down, the whole deal acts like it will work and as soon as the arm of the bobbin case gets to 8 o' clock on the gears, It jams and won't hardly move. I cannot pull the bobbin case out easily after this. Perhaps there is someone out there that can help us!

Needle won't move; something stuck/dislodged

Can you remove the bobbin? Sometimes when thread gets bunched up under the lower plate it will force the bobbin out of position. Try taking it out and cleaning any loose thread and lint from the area. Put a couple of drops of oil on the outside of the bobbin case and re-insert it. Make sure you lower the needle and pull the bobbin thread through to the top and back behind the needle before beginning to sew again.
Hope this works!
