How do I get Windows 7 to recognize my Rio Chiba? I have downloaded drives from Rio's digitalnetworksna.com site. Windows recognizes that my Rio is attached via USB cable but I cannot access the player because Windows says drivers are not installed.

Don't buy an iPod... I would recommend wiping and rebooting your player cos it's cheaper:
Windows only.... Please post if you are not using windows...
Open My Computer with your Rio plugged in. Right click on your Rio player and click on format. Leave the default values - if it asks you something then use your initiative. Then click on format. Then
when it has finished formatting go to your firmware (can be downloaded
from: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=112). Follow the instructions and then it should load the firmware onto your player. When it has done then your player should (in theory!) work properly.
go to rio's support page and download the drivers for it. i did this too cus my cd rom drive dont work. however when i installed the drivers it picked uip the rio player but windows wouldnt give me any suggestions when the player was plugged in. it just gave me the option to do nothing. so i have yet to find a solution for this. i am still trying so ill try to update you asap.

Ok, Connect your MP3 player to your PC then if the computer recognize it then I recommend a "Firmware Update".
link to firmware update for Rio Sport S35S
Windows Version
http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/downloads/RioS/RioSSeries_firmware_203.exe
Mac OS Version

If it doesn't work. Then there is a hardware problem in your Rio, maybe the BIOS ROM went bad.
Good Luck
I would suggest going to the rio site, http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=235. Downloading the latest version of the rio music manager. See if,once the manager is loaded, you can access your music.
What OS did you load?
Are you using MS indexer or Google?
1. go to http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/r....asp?prodID=213 and download update 1.33
2. install update in C:\RioForge\Flash133
3. run RioForgeFlash_133.exe from C:\RioForge\Flash133
4. press Rio Forge menu button and turn the unit on. "upgrader" will appear on screen.
5. plug USB cable to RioForge.
6. click "next" on Rio Upgrade Wizard. Wizard will detect your player. Select and click "next". Upgrade will take place.
7. Unplug Rio Forge from USB and turn it on.
