My receiver for the Panasonic-SA-HT800V is toast

My receiver for the Panasonic-SA-HT800V is toast, but the other components (speakers SB-FS803, SB-PC803, SB-WA312) are fine. I cannot find a SA-HT800 system available for purchase.

Can I purchase any other receiver that can use these speakers?

Thank you.

It's not completely toast, but I have a lot of problems with the disc player. Is the connection to the subwoofer (and therefore to the surround speakers) standard, or is it specific to the Panasonic system? If so, can you replace the player with another Panasonic?

My future purchase will be done differently. I don't like having to replace the whole HT system, just because the player goes out.

I had a power outage and when the power came back on I can no longer see the display such as what setting it is on, what the volume is at and so forth. I can only get sound to come out when it is on tuner or when playing a dvd. No sound at all from the speakers or sub when I am trying to watch my dvr which is ran to the tv with the sound system tied into the tv as well.

Same situation here - looking for a compatible DVD / VHS (or just DVD is okay) that I can use with the speakers I already have. Thanks!

Finding an operating manual for Panasonic SA HT800V

You'll need the manual for the SC HT800V. On page 2, there's a parts list table that shows the SA HT800V is the amplifier part of the SC HT800V system. Here's a download link (the cover page of the manual says it's for the SC HT800V and two other models):

I would like to connect my computer to my panasonic sa-ht800v unit and hear the sound thru the surround sound speakers

In general, your PC's sound card (and its controlling software) will determine what it can connect to.

Even the most basic PC would have stereo analog output via the typical green 1/8" connector or a headphone jack that easily adapts to RCA pair for analog audio connection. Any Line Level input EXCEPT PHONO would accept the PC's output. The output level would be controlled by the sound card software and settings.

The SA-HT800's single LINE Input would accept the Green stereo audio or speaker output from a standard PC, once adapted. Select VCR.

Find your PC's Sound Controls and enable the applicable input. make sure the volumes of both Inputs and Outputs are turned up.

Though not applicable to theGemini, more-advanced sound cards and audio hardware would have similar adaptable 5.1 or 7.1 (paired) analog outputs and / or digital audio outputs that conform to the s/pdif or Dolby Digital standards.

I hooked up the Panasonic sa-ht800V Home Theater Audio System SA-HT800V to an old tv the only hook up is the coaxial cable i turned TV to channel 3 and i get picture from the dvd is the a setting a need to...

Look at Page 12 if your TV only has RF coaxial antenna input...

http://www.retrevo.com/support/Panasonic-SA-HT800-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/312bh741/t/2/

Add in the Video cable (included) if the TV has an input for it and you'll be able to manage the SA-HT800 through the TV.

Make all the other necessary selections prescribed in the manual.

Cannot get tv to play through speakers with cable dvr unit

Not enough info but... have you checked to see if your audio is output on the dvr and input on the reciever? also selecting the right audio on the tv menu might help... there is also a chance you might have to route the audio stright from the tv to the audio reciever instead of going from the dvr.

NO DISC message

I assume that problem is dirt on laser lenses. If you don’t get any result after this, than you can replace receiver with new one. If you want to use your existing speakers with new receiver with integrated amplifier, you must pay attention on wattage, to be same like old one (i.e. 100W), and also resistance (i.e. 4 ohm). If it’s same like old receiver, you should have no problem. Good luck.

NO DISC message

Open up the unit and clean the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, try a music CD and report the results here. I suspect that the optics have begun to fail. If that is the case, the music CD will play but a DVD will not. The optics assembly is available (part # RAF3023A-1) for about $60.
