Inputs: AV In 1 RF In Y AV In 1 S-Video In 1 Scart Jacks 3 Component in + Audio 1 Digital Audio Out 1 Variable Audio Out 1 HDMI/HDCP Input 1 RGB In 1

Which jack point am I supposed to put the green lead into .

This should be posible yes. BUT

First, confirm that the logitech box looks like this:
    http://techgage.com/reviews/logitech/x-5...

Can you let us know which TV you use? Make and model.

Then I can tell you what cables you need.

HERE is a link to the Z-540 manual. It should help. Connect the green plug from the audio input cable to the "line out" jack on your TV. Do NOT use the black or orange plugs. WIth a 2 channel card like your TV's you will not get sound from the rear speakers unless you enable matrix mode through the remote.

Hope that helps!

How do I wire up my Logitech X540 Speaker system to my Lg tv?

Most TV's nowadays, have audio out RCA jacks that will allow you to send audio from the TV, to an alternate source. These speakers do come with an adapter that allows you to hook up RCA red and white audio cable, and plug them into the adapter, which goes from the RCA jack to a 1/8 in female headphone style jack. You would then need to get a 1/8 in audio cable that has two male ends, and plug that into the back of your sub woofer in the front speakers port. But this really isn't going to give you very good sound quality being it's not giving you true 5.1 surround sound, even with the matrix feature enabled!

How does Logitech X-540 speakers connect to a laptop? Do you connect them through the headphone jack? Do you need to buy any extra cables?

see it is a 5.1 speaker system if your laptop comes with 3 audio jacks with colours green black and pink then all your speakers works if you have only two jacks tht is one jack for audio and other is microfone then u only your woofer and 2 speakers works in speaker cables ther will be two cables connect the green one to green jack your sound plays if u have totally 3 jacks connect the 2nd cable to black one(non microfone jack)check this out this works

Speaker extensions

http://techgage.com/article/logitech_x-540_51_speakers/ has a great review of the components. Radio Shack could also tell you what you need. Avoid asking biggies like Best Buy or Circuit city, as their "little things" like extension wires are extraordinarily overpriced, compared to Target or Walmart.
