Ive had the Panasonic DVD Home Theater System SA-PT750 for the past 3 years and have been using the same remote control. The remote control is a Universal Remote Control from Panasonic that came with the system. Now when I try to use it, it displays the code 'Remote 1" on the display screen on the player. I don't know why and the only buttons that work are the tv buttons.

SOURCE: Panasonic SA-PT750 - changing Region restriction

The system region control is a function of the software on the DVD player. I don't believe there is a way to change the region settings on most DVD players. You can however convert your DVDs with software available online. One program is called "DVD Region & Css Free" and is available for a small price. That is perhaps one way you could approach your problem. Otherwise look for a player that will play discs from other regions.

You are likely to find the instructions for the EUR7662YWO remote in the manual for the home theater system. The main unit is the SA-PT750.
