You need to "oil the springs"...lol. Get a Chevy! No, really, why did you post that in this forum? What watch were you wearing when all this creeking was happening...

I'm just teasing you...

I only have a date window. how do I set the date?

turn hands clockwise untill date changes than back up about half an hour and go forward again some let you bump one day at a time faster that way, some just require turning the stem counter clockwise when pulled out.

I have a Tag Heuer Grand Carrera. It worked perfectly for a year. But now, it doesnt work. When I shake the watch, it starts and then stops again after few minutes. I was told to wind it. But I dont know...

If your watch is "automatic" then would I be right in thinking you took it off for a few days and it stopped?

If this is the case (since most of the Carrera range are automatic, then the spring will have run down and needs re-winding.

You were correct in thinking that shaking it will re- start it but to keep it going you need to shake it gently from side to side for some time. (One supplier quoted 500 times!) be patient and keep wearing it.

Tissot wristwatch model PR 516 GL

I guess you never overhauled your watch.Every mechanism has it's limits - so does the watch movements. Your watch has ETA Swiss made mechanical movement which is very good and reliable, but you have to take care of it from time to time. Mechanical movements are designed to last almost forever if they are looked after and yours isn't an exception. Bring it down to the local watchmaker and ask to overhaul it. It will run as new again and will not let you down. It is recommended to overhaul mechanical watches every 4-6 years. If this will be done, your watch will happily tick-tock on your grand-grand-grand-grand-grand-grand children's wrist and they will remember you with a few good words and respect.

The watch is 2 minutes slow I know how to change the hours, but I am not able to up the minutes

Use the button, that you use to go to the hours setting and keep pressing it, until the minutes flash. Bump the plus or minus button until you have the correct time. Bump your way through to regular running time.

I have a TAG HEUER Grand Carrera and the second has stopped

Are you aware that these are automatic watches and need to be moved to keep the watch going, kinetic energy winds up the movement which allows it to keep going, if it is left off your wrist and in a drawer or sat stationary it will stop. Shake it violently (without dropping it) and it will restart.

Setting time and date crown positions

Yes, you must unscrew the crown before you wind up or set the watch. Always screw the crown down afterwards this keeps the watch in a water resistant condition.
