Frigidaire Model FGF378ACE gas range - oven door does not close completely - previous tenant said child opened door and climbed on and stood on it and it snapped down past horizontal position - now won't close by spring action - when forced completely closed, will spring back ajar - I assume hinges are broken - can the hinges be replaced?

OPEN THE DOOR COMPLETELY. IF IT GOES BEYOND HORIZONTAL, THE HINGES ARE BENT FROM EXCESS DOWNWARD FORCE. THEY WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
CHECK THE DOOR HINGE SPRINGS TO MAKE SURE ONE OF THEM ISN'T BROKEN. IF YOU FIND ONE BROKEN, REPLACE IT.

SOURCE: frigidaire oven door locked

SOME RANGES ARE DESIGNED TO LOCK IF THE CONTROL SENSES A TEMPERATURE EXTREME. IF THERE IS A FAILURE OF THE SENSOR THAT MAKES THE CONTROL THINK THE TEMP IS UP, IT WILL LOCK THE DOOR TO PREVENT INJURY. REMOVE THE BACK PANEL AND FIND THE OVEN SENSOR LEADS COMING OUT THE BACK OF THE OVEN. DISCONNECT THE SENSOR AND CHECK THE RESISTANCE. AT ROOM TEMP IT SHOULD BE SOMEWHERE AROUND 1084 OHMS. IF IT IS NOT CLOSE,
THE SENSOR IS BAD. PLUG IN A NEW SENSOR AT THAT CONNECTOR AND THE DOOR SHOULD UNLOCK. THEN GET INSIDE THE OVEN, REMOVE THE OLD SENSOR, AND REPLACE IT WITH THE ONE PLUGGED IN.

SOURCE: oven door won't unlock

I fixed the automatic oven door lock on my oven. While the door was open, I pushed the button on the upper left hand side a couple of times (the one that senses when the door is closed.) Then I was going to call the repairman when the door closed! I had to run the self clean cycle again to get the lock light to go off, but it worked!

SOURCE: Clean Oven Door Glass

To remove oven door:
1. The oven door is held to the oven door hinges by two
screws. (One in each hinge.)
2. To remove the oven door remove the two screws.
Two screws
3. Close the door to the broil stop position and lift up.
then remove the door handle and take out all the screws around the edges of the door and pull the out side cover from the inner but a word of caution there are about three or 4 pieces of glass they are tempered and about 100 bucks a piece and most times they wont get real clean and will get messy again

How to I adjust the flame in a Frigidaire gas oven.

No orifice for the oven jet? All work on gas appliances needs to be done by a certified gas technician. Somewhere, normally just behind the knob, there is an adjusting screw (certainly for hobs). The flame must be high enough that it can't blow out. The standard test is the slam the oven door, with your kitchen windows closed and then again with them open. Help in the link, but also the pressure from the tank _at_ the range should be checked.

I have a frigidaire professional, I am unable to close the oven door. I have a effortless oven rack systems

Good Afternoon Nancy,

I understand that you are unable to close your Frigidaire range door, model# FPGF3081KF. I would check to make sure that there is nothing blocking the door from closing. Make sure that the racks are in fully, and that the hinges on the door are not hindering the door from closing. If everything is fine there, make sure that the door locking mechanism is not engaged. If the locking mechanism is engaged, what you will want to do is press and hold down the oven lockout button for 5-10 seconds, while the door is still open. Give it about 15-30 seconds and the lock should retract. If none of these suggestions help, I would contact either the manufacturer or a local authorized technician for further assistance.

-Best Regards-

Frigidaire stuck in DR mode

Good Morning ShawnR, thank you for your post!

An error code DR commonly refers to a door lock malfunction. I understand you have reprogrammed the range by unplugging it. It is important to wait approximately ten minutes and then turn your range back on. Typically, this will clear most false error codes. If the error code continues to display, your range could possibly have a faulty door latch, light switch or EOC (electronic oven control). I am fairly confident that an authorized service agent will be able to restore your appliance to its normal operating condition. You can often locate a qualified service technician on the manufacturer website.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to assist you!
