Cable company switched to digital, now my Ant A port on the vs-50603 does not receive signals. I can somewhat view the analog signals through my PIP only. other tv's in the house came back with signal 5 minutes later.

The first question you have to answer is whether your TV is capable of receiving digital broadcasts. TV stations no longer broadcast the "old analog" signals, but now transmit only in digital format. If your TV is not capable of receiving digital broadcasts, you will need to buy a special box which allows you to receive digital broadcasts. Then you would hook it up in the order: antenna -> digital box -> TV.

If your TV is capable of receiving digital broadcasts, I've found that it is very important that your antenna have a pretty much unobstructed view of the direction from which the signal is coming. For instance, if your local signals are broadcast from the southerly direction, you should try to mount your antenna to a window which is facing south.

One last point before I forget, you must make sure that you select the proper input on your tv. For instance, I have cable, and a dvd player hooked up to my tv. Before I use the dvd, I have to go into the TV menu and select my dvd. When I want to return back to cable, I have to go back into the TV menu and select the cable input.

You don't name the model but if there's asettign for audtomatically selecting digital vs analog when both are attached it's losing the digital signal and automatically switching to the analog feed. Find it in the manual. lacking a setting, it prefers digital over analog and will switch to analog on digital signal loss.

Analyze what source(s) are involved and investigate WHY you're losing the bitstream. Optical cables must be run with smooth loose bends so the light strength is not compromised.

The signal you are viewing is an analog signal.

The cable companies take the signals for your basic channels and resend them through the cable as analog so the customers that still plug the cable direct to their TV can still get some programming without the added costs of digital cable boxes on every TV.

This option will be slowly phased out over time but for now it is available.

By "TV" Signals, do you mean video signals? If so, the WIndows video player does a good job of playing most varieties. If you mean off air or cable TV signals, you'll need a receiver. Look at the Elgato, or similar brands. They plug into a USB port and are capable of receiving analog and/or HD ATSC signals, or cable signals. Keep in mind that digital cable signals are generally a mess to identify and sort out because they are on different digital channels and subchannels. You may need a digital to analog converter in front of your Elgato to keep from going nuts trying to fighure out where everything is.

Check the tv with another cable signal or another tv with that cable signal.Both check,same things happen.Ur tv digital tuner is dead.

its talking about the analog tuner in your tv. split the cable before it hits the box plug the cable strait into your tv if there is more than one coax connector on your tv you will need a second two way splitter run one into ant a and one into ant b yo will not be able to use pip and hd at same time you can only do pip with the analog tuners built into you tv

Indoor antennas have very limited capabilities especially in areas with elevation changes and heavy tree cover. Ideally, you should put an outdoor antenna on your roof or the highest elevation you can find with a relatively short distance to the TV. Make sure it has a good UHF section as this is where all digital broadcasts will be sent by the broadcasters as the digital transition occurs. You might try an amplified indoor antenna for better results than what you have now, but its no substitute for an outdoor antenna.

I'm fairly certain this is a cable signal issue... I have had my digital audio cut in and out and the cable company traced it to a weak signal and replaced the cabling. No issues since. Just an FYI, my setup is a Sony 6.1 with an Optical cable. There is a Blue Light indicator for Surround and when I had the problem, the receiver's light would go off and the display "blinked."
