We have a Norstar M7310 phone here in the office, how do I reset the system administration password?

    Yes I have the same problem. We have had some staff changes. I cannot get into the admin phone or another phone because I don't have correct password. Is there a way to override?

    I had the same problem, but it was solved by the above info:
    Press Feature 985
    Press the 9 Key
    Enter RESETSMPSWD (73738767793) using the dialpad
    Press YES

    When I press "985" it says VM:395 it does not give me a chance to press 9. What do I do?

This works, i just did it today!!

Press Feature 985
Press the 9 Key
Enter RESETSMPSWD (73738767793) using the dialpad
Press YES
Once you have RESET the password, it reverts to the default.
See Below
If your system uses 2 digit extensions use 120000
If your system uses 3 digit extensions use 1020000
If your system uses 4 digit extensions use 10020000

Before I type in the password, it keeps telling me to set 36. What does that mean? It wont let me reset the password.

How do i reset a phone that is second hand. it is acting up and as soon as any botton is pushed, it redirect to the same extension.

It should be 23646 (ADMIN), I don't think you can change it.

I don't think you can, it's the same for every phone. That way a technician can come in a fix it and use the same codes everytime.

Have your system administrator go into voicemail programming and reset the mailbox password. The default password will be "0000".
I hope you understand that having passwords in the first place is a security measure, so I will not give directions for hacking into your companies voicemail system.

We have a norstar m7310 and the mailbox is locked due to too many failed password attempts. I did log into the System administration and reset the password to that mailbox and it is still locked. How do I...
When you reset the password, it goes back to the default of "0000". When you try to log into that mailbox the next time, it will prompt you to change the password. Hope this helps!

Feature 983 is system admin

1. Log into system administration
To Reset a Mailbox Password:
1. Log into system administration
2. Select the softkey under “MBOX”
3. Select the softkey under “Chng”
4. Enter the mailbox number you want to reset the password for
5. The display shows “Reset Password”
6. Select the softkey under “RESET”
7. Press the release key
*The new password will be “0000′, the system will ask the user to change

Enter Administration Mode
  • Using you telephone set push feature * * 266344
  • Display will read Password
  • Using you telephone set enter password: 2 6 6 3 4 4

  • Display will read Configuration
  • Press Show
  • Display will read Trk/Line Data
  • Press Show
  • Display will read Sys speed dial
  • Press Next several times until the display reads Set relocation: Y or N
  • Press Change until the phone displays Y for ON or N for OFF

2. The display will show "LOG", enter your login password
a. If your company extensions are 2 digits long enter "120000"
b. If your company extensions are 3 digits long enter "1020000"
