As far as I know, Canon IR2016 is stand-alone copier. Printing is optional using Network connectivity. The USB port found at the back is for upgrading purposes only.
Make sure that the hardware is functioning correctly. Restart the product and the computer Manually check the USB connection between the product and the computer Make sure that the USB cable is connected correctly to the product Test the USB connections and restart the computer The USB cable is connected to a USB hub or a docking station for a laptop or Desktop.
Fully uninstall and reinstall the HP software Use the MSCONFIG utility to enable the Startup software Try the scan again If the scan is successful, the issue is resolved.
the USB port on the back became loose. its common on that series. the ONLY thing you could do, is to take apart the printer (find the screws, they're torx, you'll figure it out while you watch TV) and once you get to the main board, buy a soldering iron at the $1 store and heat up the connections. At most, you may have to buy a little bit of solder for $3 at radio shack. once you do that, the printer works perfectly for a very long time!
Well what type of device, scanner or whatnot mac doesn ot support everything you buy if know it says it on the box its just not the full truth. get back with me with a reply
How do you connect the printer to your imac? what type of cable are you using? if its a USB connection, then try going to system profiler and under hardware click on USB and on USB device tree you should have highspeed USB 2.0 and when you highlight that, it should give info for manufacturer as EPSON if thats the brand of the printer you are currently using. update me on this so that we can check if its really communicating with your imac-- thanks!
