I purchased a brand new Sony Bravia KDL-32L5000 LCD digital color tv with a remote RM-YD028 which worked fine for about 1 year. Then, the remote completely stopped working. Double checked the batteries and everything else I could possibly do with the troubleshooting area of instruction booklet and more online possibilities. I believe is the remote as I had another remote working fine with the TV and it does not work either. There are no obstructions or florescent lighting in the way. Please help. Andres

From your description, I would suspect that the IR receiver inside the TV has failed. If the TV can be controlled from the panel buttions, that adds to that suspicion. Please note that it is possible that the receiver has poor solder connections and that this can be easily fixed. Even with replacing the receiver, the part would cost only around $10 or so. Check with local repair shops for a cost to repair this.

I wouldnt waste any more time with THAT remote.
There are a number of places online that sell replacements and probably less than Sony too
