We have a 2 year old 32 inch Samsung TV. The other day, I had it on and left it on while I did some chores around the house. W hen I returned the screen was totally white. We can change channels, hear the TV but the screen is white. Wonder what the cause it and is it worth fixing? Also, it had been very slow to come on when the power button was pushed.

SOURCE: Numerous white spots on Smasung DLP TV

same problem for me ... check out this thread on AVSforums about it.

I have the same exact tv as you and had the same problem. I took it to a repair shop who told me I needed a new DMD chip and that it would be 850 to fix. I used the information in thread above to get the part number and bought the chip on ebay for under 200. Here is a link to the listing CHIP

People have had good success. I will be replacing mine tomorrow.

SOURCE: White dots appearing on Samsung TV screen and multipling each day

It seems you might have an issue with the dmd board. Go to the menu, and if the dots still show on the menu, the issue definitely is with the dmd board but if they don't come up on the menu, the issue will be with the video board.

SOURCE: Own a Samsung DLP TV 42 inch and white dots have

The random whit dots you are seeing is more than not the DMD or million little mirrors board. The white spots represent some of the mirrors that are sticking in the on position. In that case they are always reflecting white light from the lamp. I don't concider the DMD board a do it yourself repair since on the older DLP set it requires mechanical alignment as well. The best thing to do is contact a techincian and see what they might charge to repair the TV for you. Please take a few moments to rate my answer...Thanks..

Hi andrew, its not a big problem.. Decent TV. but the pixels are DEAD. that means you have to recover them by fixing the LCD. this would cost you around £40-60 for a 32 inch TV. hope this helps!

Samsung LN32A330J1D - LCD TV - only 2 years old and power button is broken

Capacitors, capacitors and capacitors. I can't stress that enough. Common issue with these samsungs. Check those capacitors before changing any board.

If there is a bad capacitor in the power supply, you will either get one of two symptons.

1 - Solid red Led and thats it. You hit the power button and nothing will respond.

2 - You just hear a click repeatedly.

I have a 32 inch toshiba tv that sometimes won't turn on for days

You may have bad solder joints inside and around the power supply or deflection circuit. Whit the power on try to hit the side of the set to see if it makes a difference. That would confirm the problem.
Hope this will help Good luck.

Tv

Good day.

The problem with your unit is that when your tube was replaced, it was not degaussed or demagnitized. The purpose of such is to distribute the color evenly unto the entire television matrix.
You can try to demagnetized it by rotating a magnet around the surface( but not so near) of the picture tube while it is operating.

Also, please check for the degaussing coil around the rear portion of the tube was returned and also check for loose contacts.
