Door Lock Error---(F/DL)

A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock it 6 times before displaying the error.

Potential Causes

• Door Lock Mechanism broken or removed from the Door
• Check Door Lock/Switch Assembly
• Check the wire harness connections to the Door Lock/Switch Assembly and
Central Control Unit (CCU)
• Door Lock/Switch Assembly Failure

This will essentially be the result of a failed door locking mechanism(wax motor failure). The necessary actions are to replace the entire door locking assembly. Replacing the door locking mechanism will correct this issue.

When i try use the washer it starts to make a clicking sound then when i hit cancel starts to beep and it flashes f dl

F dl = Door lock error
A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock
it six times before displaying the error code.
Possible causes/procedure:
¦ Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door.
¦ Door switch/lock unit failure.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check door switch/lock unit.
3. Check the wire harness connections to the door
switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'F' + 'dl' stands for Fault Door Lock. There is likely to be a problem with either the door solenoid/lock or the 'door closed' sensor. It will not reset as a service engineer's attention is required I suggest ;-0(

it probably flashes also f11....to correct that problem , you must replace CCU board (upper board) and latch assembly...

DL F signal

Hi, this is a failed door lock alert. the FdL code represents this malfunction in the door lock mechanism. the unit will not operate if the door lock cant engage the latch. replacing the door lock mech will fix this issue.

Kenmore Elite HE4t stopping in mid cycle with F abd DL errors

See Phoebe 112 latest solution! This is a common problem with these washers. For a quick fix you can usually get it going again by unplugging it for 30 mins. so the computer will reset. You will hear a slight buzzing noise when it resets. If it keeps doing it, go to the comment for Feb. 14, 2009 and try that if you are handy. Unplug the machine before doing any of this as with any machine that is electric or you will probably get the shock of your life.
