Have a Zebra 105SE that prints the FEED test just fine, but will not print the PAUSE test nor will it print a bar code label from the computer. The FEED test prints vertical bar codes while the PAUSE test and label from computer print horizontal bar codes. When using the PAUSE test, the first label that reads PEEL OPTION INSTALLED prints, then nothing else, but the DATA light stays on. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Check to see if the pause light is on also. Make sure you are using the correct printer driver. (105se)
Try in ZPL and then try in ZPLII.
Check Delimiter character 2CH
Check Format prefix 5EH
Check Control prefix 7EH

Hello, I have a problem with Zebra Z4M Plus

Hi, if is the vertical line, its the print head that need to be replaced,
try to clean the print head and try this to confirm:
turn printer off, press PAUSE button and at the same time, power on, don't release the button, please wait until printer LCD screen come on, then release button. It will print the PAUSE test and after few 3-4 prints, u can turn off and on again otherwise printer not ready to print your labels until u restart it. (pause test stops after 10-15 labels). this pause print just show how the print head is and if come with vertical lines, u will need to replace. other idea is (if u can) turn the bar code different position or on vertical way at label format. Thanks.

We have a 105Se Zebra when it is printing in the middle of the bar code it does not print or is very light. We have cleaned the printhead and it still has the void on the barcode. We did notice a crack on...

Power off the printer and press and hold the pause key for 5 seconds while powering on the printer. This will start printing a bar across the width of the printhead. You should be able to determine whether it is a printhead issue or platen roller or both. Recycle power to exit diagnostics.

Zebra 105SE printer will print text and images just fine, but will not print bar codes from any software including Bartender or TechnoRiverStudio. If i export the label as an image I can print it just...

Bartender is a pretty good label software package - strange that you're having problems with a barcode. Are you by any chance trying to print a 2D barcode such as Datamatrix ? If that's true, then the problem is that the datamatrix barcode is not a resident barcode in the firmware version of that printer which is an older model. There should be a choice in bartender, in the properties of the barcode field that allows you to send the barcode as an image or graphic. The barcode will then print.

If you're trying to print a linear barcode (C39 or C128 or UPC for example) and it they won't print with the steps you have taken, then something is definetly wrong. Another option would be to take your label format and print-to-file instead of print-to-printer. There should be an option on the print screen for this. By then opening the file, the ZPL (Zebra's programming language) can then be examined to see exactly what is being sent to the printer.

Hope this helps !

My Zebra 105SE is printing fine on the left

I think the 105 has an adjustment on the printhead. There are left and right hand adjusters just above the printhead. It sounds as if the right hand one does not have enough pressure on it, try increasing the RH one and see the effect on the print.

Every label printed starts further down on label zebra 105se

It sounds like the problem is with the media sensor. Make sure you haven't loaded the ribbon through the same slot that the paper enters on the media guide. There is a reflective metal plate above the media that reflects the sensor from below the media.

Zebra 105SE label material will not retract in prep for next Lab

The platen is the driving force for the label. the main drive belt runs all functions in the printer.
Is the back feed turn on in the printer? Check the setup.

Also if the print driver is set(doc/properties settings on print depending on software) to use pirnter settings, and the back feed is turned off in the printer, it will not backfeed.

Printing solid black across the label.

Sounds like a defective printhead.

Reinstall the old one to see if the problem remains or not.

No response from 105Se

if the data light comes on and nothing prints chances are that the serial settings are set improperly. all of my printers are 25 pin serial, not parallel. i don't have one in front of me but i believe the settings are 19200, 8, 1, none. hope this helps.
