Why are the oven indicator lights flashing?
Answer:
When power is first supplied to the appliance, a flashing time will appear on the display.
If a flashing time appears at any other time, a power failure has occurred. Press Cancel, and reset the clock if needed.
When the oven is not in use, the display shows the time of day.
If the indicator lights keep flashing after you have tried to reset the controls, then you may need to contact service person.
This is from the Jenn-Air website.
SOURCE: Don't know if the oven part of range is gas or electric
The model number can usually be found just inside the door or drawer (on the range itself).
All the Jenn-Air convection ovens I'm familiar with are electric even if the cook top is gas.

You have a short somewhere between the switch and the burner connector. Probably a wire's insulation has worn away or melted and is allowing the wire to contact the metal housing somewhere. You will see arc marks wherever the short is located. Look carefully where the wire passes through any holes or where sharp turns are encountered.

SOURCE: Stainless Steel Range Tops.
The only way to clean it is with steel wool. I use 2 different grades, but finish with a fine grit-0000. You still can't get it completely clean, no matter what you do. Forget it looking new. It's not real stainless steel if it's model FEF455BBA. I won't EVER buy this sort of top again either. I have had numerous problems with it, including since it conducts heat and doesn't shield wiring from the heat generated by the eyes, it is constantly melting out the plug-in elements for the eyes. I am surprised it hasn't been recalled. I am surprised more people haven't had fires!

Have basically the same problem (Model JDS9865BDP dual fuel). Downdraft blower will not turn off - Electonic Digital Display says BLOWER HI. Pressing the blower button (at the front of the burner recess area) will turn the blower off, when you release the button the blower comes back on. Heard a loud electrical "snap" noise when the problem ocurred. Unplugging the downdraft motor at the motor stops the motor. After reviewing the electrical schematic it looks like the problem is either the burner control switch/valve, or the electronic control module/digital display. Our oven is about 20 months old.
