I would like to program the URC-R6 to operate the dvr on my Scientific Atlantic receiver. While it has dvd/dvr/vcr buttons, there isn't a LIST button (or anything else) to access the recordings. Is it possible to program the URC-R6 for use with the dvr?

Hi.. I am trying to program our Universal R6 remote to our emerson ewd2202 dvd/vcr but nothing seems to work. I have tried the list of codes given for emerson in general... but not sure if there is a way to figure out what the exact code is for a emerson ewd2202 code.

If none of the codes work then we have two other solutions:
1. Searching For Your Code
If you have tried all of the set-up codes for your brand of equipment ,or your
brand is not listed, and you are still not able to get the unit to respond, try
the following procedure to search for your code.
If you don't find a code that works, the remote will flash four times when you
reach the end of all the codes for this device type.
Make sure that the remote is pointed at your device during the search, You
may have to press this sequences of buttons up to 100 times to search the
entire library of codes.
2. Learn the buttons from the original
Line up your original remote and the head-to-head before completing the
following steps.
Now you can repeat steps 3 through 5 to learn other functions onto other keys
or press and hold SETUP until the Cinema's red light flashes twice to lock in
your new feature. (If the red light does not blink twice, stop and repeat steps
through 6).
To test the new feature, press and release the device key in which the new
feature was learned followed by the key on which the feature was learned

I solved the problem (i.e. no List button to operate a Scientific Atlanta DVR). All I did was use the learning function on the R6 to assign the Last button to List. Just put the component remote facing the R6, press Cable and Enter, press Last on the R6, then press List on the component remote. Of course, you are sacrificing the Last function (display previous channel) and you'll have to tell everyone in the family to use Last for List . . . but it'll work.

I have a universal remote that I just got and just found out when I called the tech support # on the back of the box, it's missing the book. SO I need a code for a yamaha DVD.
