CHANGING THE CAPACITORS DID NOT WORK FOR ME.... Samsung LNS4051D would not turn on and the power LED would blink 4 times and the relay would click and this would repeat again and again. I replaced power supply board parts CS806, 811, 812 & 817, all 1000 uf 10v capacitors, three had their tops bulged up slightly I replaced them with Radio Shack part 272-1032, 1000 uf, 35v. STILL NOT WORKING - HELP Thanks Joe

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device, [Exclude the model number] in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Replacing the capacitors would be a good start. Replace all the ones with the same capacitance and voltage rating even if they do not look bulge.
Let me know if you require further assistance.

SOURCE: Samsung LN-T2632H won't turn on.

Follow these steps to figure out what problem is.
When you turn on TV, look at the back and see if the back light on. If it is on, the power supply and inverter work fine. The suspection now is main board and T-con board (the small board on the middle-top of the panel)
To find the problem from the main board or not. Look at the power supply and measure Vs on - turn on the TV, this approx 5 vlt DC needs constant once you turn on the TV. If it is drop or unstable - main board problem - replace it.
If Vs on is good - disconnect the T-con cable from the power sup. If power sup stop clicking - T-con need replacing. Hope it help.

SOURCE: Samsung LN46A550 LCD power on/off

Apparently this is a known problem with flat panel TVs made a few years ago due to bad capacitors in the power supply. This same problem appeared in computer mother boards at about the same time so that the capacitors went open or shorted causing problems. There is videos on You Tube that addresses this problem see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZccykxrtX9g as a starting point and look around for other repairs

SOURCE: 35V/1500UF/105C CAPACITOR BULGED ON MAIN BOARD,

Hello
It is a two terminal component, and can be replaced easly. But when you unsolder it out of the board, make sure of the polarity, ie, it is an electrolytic capacitor, and have both positive and negative polarity. This will be maked on its body, normally negative will be marked, and should be noted. When replacing it, the polarity of the new one should coincide with, otherwise it will burst out, and will be dangerous. This is the only thing to be noted when replacing an electrolytic capacitor of any type. OK.

LCDFLASHING LED & NOT COMING ON THEN DISAPEAR

Is the on-off sound, a clicking?

This is a comon problem with the Samsung LCD HDTV on the Power Board.

You can repair or replace faulty parts on PS board.

When checking the capacitors, If they are slightly rounded on the top where the X is, the cap is defective. See the Youtube below.

Because the Samsung LNS4051D would not turn on and the power
LED would blink 4 times and the relay would click and this
would repeat again and again. I replaced power supply board
parts CM806, 811, 812 & 817, all 1000 uf 10v capacitors,
three had their tops bulged up slightly that I missed on
initial visual inspection. After seeing the reports of
problems with these caps on
http://www.fixya.com/support/t1336881-will_not_turn_or_off ,
I replaced them with Radio Shack part 272-1032, 1000 uf, 35v.
They are slightly bigger, but fit OK. TV is working fine now.
Cost was 4 x $1.59 = $6.36 plus the time. I saved between
$100 to 300 in the process of either replacing the board or
getting the unit serviced. If you are not comfortable
replacing components which means using a soldering iron, you
can replace the power circuit board, available from
www.Samsung.PartStore.com.
