Can I be honest? These are not easy to do. Ive done hundreds and I hated doing each one. You can try yourself but I would take to the dealer who sold you the watch, or to a local watchmaker. If you still want to do on your own, here is a link to a Speidel band that does a pretty good job with instructions. Best wishes.

Shorten the length of a Kenneth Cole "New York" watch band

With the watch on your wrist, check to see how many links need to be removed from your watch. Your watch should fit comfortably on your wrist. Remove the extra links with your paper clip or push pin.To remove the links from your watch, press on the small pins with your tool that are holding the links in place. The watch band should now separate allowing the pin to become free, and you can now remove the pins first and then the links one at a time until you have removed the desired amount of links. Reattach the watch band when you are done removing the links. To reattach the watch band to your watch, simply fit the end links into each other. To complete the resizing, use your push pin to re-insert a joining pin.

How do I adjust the length of the bracelet (watch band) for a Casio EF106D-2AV bracelet watch?

  • Select a clean, flat work surface where you can perform your watch band adjustment. Put down a piece of felt to protect the face of your Casio. Turn on a lamp near your workspace to better illuminate the watch components with which you will be working.
  • Lay your Casio face down on the protective felt. Look for the small arrows on the back of some of the watch links; these arrows indicate the removable watch links and the direction their pins should be removed.
  • Locate the pin hole above the arrow on the removable watch links. Insert the tip of a watch pin removal tool, or push pin, into the pin hole. Apply pressure to the link pin, in the direction indicated by the arrow, to free the pin and remove the link. A pair of needle-nose watch or jewelry pliers can be used to help pull out stubborn link pins. Remove as many links as necessary for your watch to fit perfectly.
  • Reserve the links and link pins that you remove from your Casio Edifice watch. Store the removed watch components in a small, clear, plastic zipper bag. These components can be used when repairing or expanding your Casio watch band.
  • WARNING:Casio recommends that customers have their watch bands sized by an authorized Casio watch dealer. Sizing the band of your Casio Edifice yourself may void the manufacturer's warranty on your watch. Contact Casio customer support for more warranty information.

    Adjusting the watch band

Without knowing the type of band you have, I can only say that the links in an expand band can be removed to make it smaller. Now adding more links would require that one would need obtain compatible links.

How can I resize a citizen watch with an expandable band? It's a little too big. The owner's manual doesn't tell. Thank you-

If you look carefully on the inner side of expandable bands, there's usually the removable links of the band near one or both ends of the band.
These usually have arrows indicating which direction the locking pin/tab slides to unlock and allow removal.
If you're careful, you can unlock them and remove one or two by using a small screwdriver. A very inexpensive alternative is to find a local watch repair shop and have them resize if for you while you wait. They've got the mini-tools and it's usually very reasonable (around here, there's a couple chain grocery stores that have watch repair kiosks inside..great alternative and cheap).

    Shorten watch band

For this you will need a pair of fine tweezers, a small flat blade screw driver and a lot of patience.

Determine how many links you need to take out by pinching the band while it is on the wrist. Once you know how many you are ready to remove the links.
spread the band and you will see that the very end of the links is tabbed. Be careful and fold down the end of the link with your small screw driver. Be careful not to bend anything. You will then need to turn the band over and bend down the tab of the link on the opposite side but right beside the first tab you bent down. Now you will see how the band is held together. If you look into the two tabs you just bent down you will see a small peice of metal connecting the two links. This is a staple. Pull the staple out with your tweezers.
Now go to the exact opposite side and perform the same task. The band should now be apart where you remove the staples from each side.
Now count down the number of links you want to remove and perform the task again.
*Remember that you must do it the exact same way on each side or the band will not go back together.
Once you have the correct number of links out the band will go back together the same way you took it apart.
When folding down the tabs be sure to use gentle even pressure so you dont over bend them and keep the band from moving freely. I usually find it easiest to use the fla part of the screw driver in a gentle pressing motion.

Remember that this take watch makers and technician a lot of practice. Be patient. If you arent patient or good with very small parts, pop into your local jewlery store for help.

    Remove links on this watch

Most bands have removable links on the end of the band. You can tell because they have small holes on the side to remove the pins that hold them together. The links that don't have holes are not removable. This is standard on most metal bands.

Adjust expandable watch bands- Timex watch

Most expandable watch bands aren't sizable. IF it is sizable you will be able to tell when you stretch the bracelet out. If it looks like you can unlatch the links when you stretch it out then you might be in luck, but like I said, most are not sizable.
