You will need to replace your fan. Usually the fan will make noise before going out but not always. The fan is located behind the rear panel in the freezer you will have to remove the contents of the freezer and the shelving. Remove the screws holing th back panel on. The fan will be at the top and you will see the fan blade. There will be screws going thru rubber mounting dampeners on the metal ends of the fan frame. Unhook the two wires to the fan and the green ground wire. Keep your fan blade you can pull it off if your new motor does not come with one. The blade is help on by a pressure clip. I normally put a flat blade screw driver behind it and pry it off using the motor as a lever point. Make sure to unplug your fridge before starting on the repair. I hope this helps and good luck.

The freezer not getting cold enough is defiantly due to the condenser fan motor not working. You would be best served to replace the fan motor with the correct part number though others will work, a small desk fan blowing in the back would work. As to the temperature issue in the refrigerator, you might have a bad t-stat.

Frig or freeser not cold

If it is your freezer, check to make sure that the air vents inside the freezer are not blocked by food. Putting too much food in an blocking the air vents will prevent the freezer from freezing. Air needs to circulate inside the freezer for it to work properly. This can also cause excess freezer ice collecting on freezer or in foods. Dust and lint will collect under and behind a frig. Pull the frig out from the wall, unplug it. Check for lint under and on the back of it. If it has accumulated some, vacuum it all off and plug it back in and wait a while to see if it gets cold. The fan pulls lint and dust under the frig and it stops the cooling system. If this doesn't work, it may need the freon (can't spell it correctly) stuff replaced. If these don't work, you need to call

Inside the freezer, at the back is another fan that circulates cold air from the freeze through out the fridge. Make sure it's running. Sometimes the blade will slip on the shaft and get jammed, or the motor could be defective.

Frig doesn't cool. Freezer works fine. freezer

You have solved your problem :D You need to get that fan blowing. The vast majority of the time that is all you need. Other times, there can be another part controlling the operation of the fan (ADC - Adaptive Defrost Control). Post the model number and I will see if you have one of these ADCs in your appliance :D

I have a frigidaire gallery series frig side by side with ice and water in door. The frig part won't stay cold. It also seems to take long time to make ice. The frig part works ok for awhile and then...

Check for two things. Look under the refrigerator and make sure the compressor fan is turning.

Second, check inside the freezer for proper operation of the fan that moves cool air throughout the freezer and refrigerator. If this fan is working, you can probably hear it. It should be behind an access plate in the freezer (near the top). Remove the plate and look at the fan. If it's not turning, you will have to replace the fan motor.

Fan underneath frig is running but no cold air is coming into the frig or freezer

The fan that is under the frig is the condensor fan(the fan the cools the condenser coils and the compressor. It does not have a direct effect on the chilled air circulation inside of the frig. The evaporator fan is the unit that circulates the chilled air thru your freezer and frig. I am not sure what make model unit you have, but I have found that this fan motor is 90% of the circulation problems i have seen.

I have a Kenmore Cold Spot fridge, freezer on top. Fridge is warm, and freezer keeps freezing up on sides and bottom. I cleaned it all out, defrosted it, and it still freezes up and fridge still won't get...

Is this a self defrost model? Frost inside the freezer could be an air leak around the door gasket. Remove the back panel in the freezer and completely defrost the coils. Is the fan running in the freezer. That will make the frig not be cool. With the door closed peek in the gasket to make sure the light is shutting off, this will warm a frig also.
