Hi and welcome to the site,

Initially, postback the brand and model number.

Offhand, if the camera uses cassette tapes, then the message would be referring to the rewind feature as it is used during the eject mode so as not to have any slack that may be left inside the cassette holder. In most instances, this would be a faulty belt, a worn our gear or faulty rewind reel motor (depending on the model).

Good luck and thank you for asking.

HI! I'VE JUSTED WENT THRU THE GR-D770U MANUAL BUT HAVEN'T FOUND ANYTHING REGARDING STEPPING OUT OF THE "UNIT IN SAFEGUARD MODE", EJECT AND REINSERT TAPE, THERE IS ALSO 03 NUMBAR IN THE SCREEN! THANKS

To reset the error message, unplug the video camera from its power source and remove the battery. Wait at least two minutes. Next take out the cassette. Wait a few more minutes and then reconnect the power source. Replace the battery and then the cassette. Turn on the camera and see if the error returns.

In some cases, the solution is to press and hold the play button while you turn on the video camera. This starts the camera in playback mode and avoids the error. Turn off the camera, then press Rec while turning on the unit. This starts the camera in the recording mode and also resets the machine.

If neither of the above solutions work, try using a different cassette tape. Sometimes, the tape will slip when the camera does a self-test and a new cassette might not have the slack issue. This can trigger the error. Otherwise, the GR-D770U needs service. I hope this helps.

When I inserted a new dv cassette into the camcorder to record - it chewed the tape then the "eject" message came up, I inserted a new tape and the eject message showed up again. I have also noted a whine...

This can be caused by several problems including the transmission gear in the tape mechanism not engaging properly or a defective clutch in the take-up spool and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

How does the vcr release the tape to be ejected?

When in play the tape is pulled out of the cassette & wrapped around a path that takes it across the heads using guide arms. When you press STOP/EJECT. the guide arms move back leaving the tape slack, at the same time a clutch device engages the take up spool & rotates to turn the spool in the cassette & wind the slack tape back into the cassette. When the arms are fully retracted a selector switch has moved into position to activate a motor which turns the mechanism to bring the cassette housing back up to the start position & relaeses the tape. If there is still tape catching the mechanism when you try to eject or some of the tape not fully back inside the cassette, this is most likely because the take up spool is not turning quickly enough to take up the slack tape.

VCR ejecting my cassettes

Try removing the top cover & have a look to see what happens when you put the tape in & press play/rewind etc. Is the take up spool (right hand spool) turning properly or is there slack tape not being taken into the cassette? Are the heads spinning ? I think your problem is more likely to do with the tape not travelling smoothly around the tape path. Possibly the clutch gears need cleaned or the soft brakes may not be dis-engaging properly.

C:32:11 message flashes, cassette eject won't work, camera doesn't work

Just had this problem myself... called Sony. Here is what I did to fix this:

1. Turn off power
2. Open the LCD Display
3. Press "Reset" with paperclip/pen
4. Unplug ANY wires connected to the camcorder
5. Eject battery
6. Plug in DC charger
7. Power on
8. Attempt to eject tape
9. At this point, the metal tape holder comes out but refuses to open... slightly "close" the portion of the camcorder that has the button to eject the tape, and then open it fully again (you'll hear a click, this signals the device that the 'hatch' is open and to eject).
10. The metal door *should* pop out and allow you to withdraw the tape.

I've tried 4 different cassettes and about 2 seconds after hitting play, I get the error every time... my solution: Not going to try to play my tapes on the camcorder anymore... will find another player to play Hi8 MP cassettes. Unknown if able to record to tape as of yet.

Remove The Casette Message

THESE CAMERAS ARE PEICES OF ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I suggest that no body buys from cannon again!!
I am suppose to record my sister-in laws wedding and BOTH of my ELURA 100's are displaying the EJACT TAPE message!

"TEMP. FIX"
This takes pateince however for me it works....When you get the EJECT TAPE mesage....eject the battery with the power on (thus the power will go off by means of the battery not being in camera) then slap the battery back in....and KEEP doing this untill eventually the camera will NOT DISPLAY the message and actual work.

It may take up to 20 trys ....slap it in..slap it out...slap it in slap it out...BUt for me it works.

If it appears to work but as you hit the RECORD button it beeps and displays the EJECT tape message again...Go back and eject the battery again and repeat the STEPS...but dont worry , that means your getting closer to it working.. LOL

P.s- I hate CANON

My ZR30mc video recorder will not eject cassette

Take the side panel off to see whether the tape is damaged and will not retreat into the cassette ( this will prevent ejection ). Remove old damaged cassette and insert new one. If the unit chews the new cassette camera should go in for VTR service.
