Ok whenever i put in a game the xbox thinks its a dvd. i just got gta4 and cant play it becouse of this. please help. i have the same problem i will put in a 360 game like GTA IV and it will tell me 2 put the game into an xbox 360 console which i am doing. But it plays DVDs fine PLZZZZZ help me i spent my $$ on the new sidekick LX GTA IV and i just got a PS3. But my parents dont want 2 pay the $100 fee to send it in cause my consoles out of warrente. And i think my 360 scrached up my games cause now they hav this thick round groove arounf the center of the disc. I hope they still play!! Microsoft should repare my console 4 free!!!!
I am almost 100% certain that the warranties of xbox 360 consoles have been extended 3 years.
I also had this problem some months ago, and Im sorry to say that I was told the problem is in the hardware. I had to send my xbox in, and they sent me a brand new one, fully covered under warranty.
Give xbox a call... 1-800-4MY-XBOX, ask about the warranty of your system, and also let them know your problem.
The only way I ever got any games to work with this problem, was to open and close the tray over and over until it finally worked, so I finally just sent it in. Good luck.
