My ps3 is not able to read and load my ps3 games,but still plays ps2 games,cds and dvds
The Blu Ray diode actually contains 3 diodes in it.
Looks like the blu ray one is out, the other 2 still function.
You may need to purchase a KES-400AAA replacement.

Sounds like your blueray drive is having issues, I would recomend calling sony ( their number is on the ps3 website) and tell them yout situation. They will either walk you through a fix or you will have to get it repaired, which means they will send you a box and you send the ps3 to them. If you have a warranty you are fine, if not you will pay approx $180.

not loading games on my ps3
my ps3 will display the disk loading icon but it will not recognize any game disks period.tried re formatting the hard drive ouch. lost all saved data to try and get my 80gb to work but no dice the optical must be dead.
