Mcdevito75 here, Your Fossil watch should work with the battery change, of course it will need to be re-set. You"ll have to double check the battery install, make sure the battery contacts are clean, use a piece of paper towel and carefully clean the battery contacts. Hopefully your new battery is not dead. Another thing to check for, is that the buttons contacts are lined up with the quartz movement. While you double check your battery install, carefully press 1 button at a time, and make sure each button is making contact with the quartz mechanism, many times during a battery change to quartz movement may move just slightly but enough to keep the buttons from contacting the movement, this will keep the watch from working. Hopefully 1 or all of these is the answer for your Fossil watch.

I have the solution to correct the time on the JR-9120. First you have to press the light button and hold. To change between the time press the start button until you get to the numbers that need to be changed. Then to change the numbers use the stop key. Good Luck

Fossil Watch Style #JR9642:The display is black, not working and the battery is fine.

There is a reset process for these models. You must short certain contacts to reset the LCD. See your local Certified Master Horologist for help doing this, as shorting the wrong contacts can permanently damage the movement.

Otherwise, if this watch is in warranty, Fossil will generally replace the watch free of charge. I would recommend calling them at 1-800-842-8621.

Even if you cannot find the receipt, they may still replace it based on its age, which is reflected in the serial number.

I hope this helps!

We bought the Fossil Brown rectangle watch model FS4284, it stopped working so thought it was the battery. we replaced the battery and then 2 months later it's not working again, faulty battery or is...

  • Change the battery. If your watch stops ticking, chances are the watch is not broken and the battery simply needs to be replaced. You can purchase a watch battery at your local department store or drugstore. Use the screwdriver to pry the back off the watch and place the new battery in the same place where the old one fit.
  • Step 2 If your watch is still not working, determine the problem. If you can hear the watch ticking but the hands are not moving, there may be a gear stuck inside. If only one of the hands does not move, the hand itself could be broken. Once you determine the problem, you can see whether it makes more sense to purchase a new watch or get the old one fixed.
  • Step 3 Check your watch warranty. If your Fossil watch came with a warranty that is not yet expired, Fossil will fix your watch if you send it to the company and pay for shipping and handling. See the "Resources" section below to fill out the Watch Repair Form provided by Fossil.com. If your watch strap is broken, however, Fossil will charge you a fee as broken straps are not covered in the warranty.
  • Step 4 Check a competing local watch repair store. There are watch repair stores located all over the United States that will repair a Fossil watch if your watch is no longer under warranty or if you do not want to pay the shipping and handling to send the watch to Fossil's watch repair department. Although the watch repair store may not have the exact strap you are looking for, it may offer a replacement strap that is similar to the one that originally came with your watch.
  • Step 5 Return the watch to the store where you bought it. If you purchased a Fossil watch that was broken when you purchased it or broke recently after you brought it home, you may be able to return the watch for a refund or store credit. Check with the store's policy before purchasing the watch if you are concerned about returns.

What battery do i need for my fossil watch its one with changing display thank you

its the norm for fossils to have 2 batterys one for the hand function and one for the back display. it depends on year or what movement is fitted.you will have a 3v battery for back display and under it there maybe a smaller cell 1.5 .it could be a 2016 or even2025 3voltand a 364 or 377 small cell but you wont know untill the backs off the watch and remember you need it resealing to make sure its water resistant after its been repaired this needs to be done by fossil or a good watch repair service like Intime watch services uk..you have to AC the movement as well to make sure all functions work it needs to be done by a trained tech..
