The top of my halogen hob has cracked from top to bottom thro the centre is there any way of repairing it? it is a 5 ring creda rangemaster

I believe you will find your answer on this site. In reading how someone else did it, some of the screws appear to be quite well hidden.

Hi,
Did you crack your hob by means of impact or did it happen on its own accord?
I have a neff induction hob and has just cracked in 3 directions while cooking this evening. I am just trying to determine if there is a common fault with this neff product or I am just unfortunate. Mine is under warranty and have a engineer coming on Monday, so have the whole weekend with no hob as I have been advised not to use it.

check the ignition button or its wiring, the button may be broken and 'on' all the time, or the wires underneath broken off and shorted together.

hi my name is mark, you can try softscrub or a glass cook top cleaner made by jenn- air or a genaric brand from the supermarket.

can't give you much guidence - will be either regulator or the plate itself. no easy way to find out. you will have to remove the hob top and check for continuity thro the plate. ifplate is ok, then power up and check for supply to the plate. if no supply, then the regulator will be at fault
