Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best place to get a owner’s manual is from the Kirby Factory that I will listed below, they should have all the owner’s manuals from al the Kirby’s. Make sure that you include the Kirby Model # and serial # if needed. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Did you try vacuuming out the inside of the cloth bag? Or washing it? Many times the dirt makes its way out of the paper and back into the room through that cloth bag.

Here's a helpful video that we recorded showing you exactly how to replace the belt on the Kirby Generation vacuums, step by step. This video will also show you how to do the basic maintenance on the roller brush to prolong the life of the belt as long as possible.

My kirby just stopped working for no apparent reason. Everything seems in order but it won't switch on. I changed the fuse but this wasn't the cause. Any ideas why it isn't working?

it has a plug that attach's to the vacume itself , then that attach's to the wall, check that, try different outlets

Put the belt over the brush roll, set it in the middle, put the brush roll into the head and put on the bottom plate. Turn the big knob on the front of the nozzle to catch the belt, turn it until it locks into place. Then put the nozzole onto the front of the vac, then turn the knob all of the way the other direction, it will put it on the motor pulley.

if you are in the US you need to call 800-437-7170 to get a manual - i'm not sure it will help in enough internal detail to help you get things back together, but the same number is for Kirby technical support and they may talk you through it.
