I have a Hitachi Ultravision Projection TV Model 57XWX20B. My TV will not stay on. I tried unplugging it, then plug it back in. It will then click once to turn on; then after 15 seconds it will turn off. Any help is appreciated.

The power source detects an overload on one of its exits and shuts down to protect itself. The tv must be opened and tested by a knowledgeable person who can identify and replace the failed part.

one of two things on this model==clean the lens on top of the chassis--the round large black ones.

Second: there is a resistor in the power supply that changes value and will cause this----also with set unplugged and back off since set was moved carefully look for any plugs not fully seated etc.

The Convergence IC's need to be replaced. They are located on the Board to the right, mounted on a large heat sink. They should be replaced with STK392-150's. The original IC's are probably STK392-110's.
The Stk392-150 is a updated replacement. Be sure to use Heat Sink Compound between the IC's and heatsink because these IC's do draw alot of current and heat up alot. Also look for any heat stressed Resisters.
I hope this helps,

Hitachi model 57SWX20B , Sound, but no picture

I had similar problem with my 57xwx20b TV as well. I'd unplug it from the wall for at leas 30-40s and plug it back in, the picture would return as normal. It will come back from time to time but the same procedure will reset the video board and the picture will return. I'd also check to make sure that the TV has the latest firmware from Hitachi as well. The FW for the ATSC tuner is upgradeable via the SD card and Hitachi website will give you the procedure. This fix all kind of problem with my TV from blank screen, green screen, flashing screen, pinkish screen because the old FW was built before the final standard. Apparently, it interferes with the video board and causes it to go amock. Good luck.

Color goint out

Try a hard reset. Just unplug the power cord for 30 minutes or more, then try again.
