I have wiped over my induction cook top and the lock has come on and now I can not use it as the lock is still on . how do I get rid of lock

The L indicates that the child lock feature has been enabled. This ensures that the burners do not function while you clean the cook top and that a child can't turn on any burners.

The procedure depends on your cook top model. For some induction models, to toggle the child lock feature off, press the front right burner zone display and the booster function key (circle with a solid circle inside on the right of the selector zone) simultaneously. Then press the front right burner zone display again until the L disappears from the display.

For an electric ceramic cooktop DTCH808, to turn off the child lock completely, press the bottom right + in a circle and the - in a circle (in the center surrounded by 4 of the + in a circle areas) simultaneously and then release the keys. Induction cook tops do not heat by convection... only the cook ware gets hot. Your cook ware has to be made or encapsulate ferrous materials. More simply put; if a magnet won't stick to the pot it won't work on an induction cook top.

Tthis is a generic fault code for induction cook tops, I am assuming this is the same for your Prestige unit.

1. For error code E9 or E09 on an Induction Cooktop, disconnect power for 10 seconds.
2. Turn back on again then retest the unit operation.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you will need to contact an authorized service shop.

If it is similar to the VE260 model, this induction type of cook top is very old. 22 - 23 years if it came with the home when it was built.
I can only offer basic suggestions of which you already probably know.
These induction type cook tops rely on the pan or skillet to be magnetic like stainless steel. If the bottom of the pan has any buildup of residue, this will dramatically reduce the efficiency of the unit.
If the pans are immaculate, then the electronic elements that produce the magnetic induction to heat the coils must be weak. As old as the unit is, it is probably not feasible to have 3 of the elements repaired....
A new top can be purchased much cheaper. Consult Consumers Reports for unbiased product reviews for your best reviews. As a final suggestion, find someone who is qualified to use an electrical multimeter to read the current on both sides of the power receptacle to ensure that your voltage is 230V. A loose connection on the receptacle can cause the elements to have the same result.
Although I can imagine you have already done everything above, I just wanted to send you what I can offer.

Hello - Typically error code E on Electrolux induction cook top indicates an error with the user interface board/control board. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose/repair the unit.

You may try and reset the induction cook top by disconnecting the power to the unit for up to 30 seconds. This will clear most false error codes. You can disconnect power by flipping the circuit breaker off and back on. If the error code does not clear, then the unit more than likely can be experiencing an issue with the EOC and user interface board. This is not a typical do it yourself job; please consult a professional or your manufacturer.

Try turning off the breaker for at least 10 min and re apply power. If this doesn't work, then there's an internal problem.
If after 10 minutes the cooktop is STILL locked:

Push the touch pad that looks like a padlock for at least 5 seconds. The lock light should go out.
