I had the exact same problem. Even pressing the Hold button does not really help, because once it resets - the Hold temperature also changes to the default.
I fixed this by replacing the 470 micro-Farad / 10v capacitor in the unit (it's the grey-colored capacitor). To access the back of the circuit board, you will need to break 2 plastic rivets holding the front of the unit to the base.
After replacing the capacitor I've not had any resets for the past 3 days (it used to reset itself every couple of hours).

Also replaced my capacitor and it's working great so far as opposed to resetting every day or two. Had to break a couple plastic pegs to open it up. Didn't have a 470 micro farad on hand so I salvaged two 1,000 micro farad capacitors from a dead power supply and added them in series.
