Make sure your needle is not in backwards, flat side must face the rear and be inserted all the way,

The needle is inserted with the flat side to the back and is inserted all the way.

I think that you should take it in for service with a good repairman because you do not want to cause any damage to the timing. You have a very good machine and it is worth the money to get a professional tune up. It should give you years and years of service, some machines are throwaways, yours is not.

Sears Kenmore Model 385.15108200 and can't get the needle assembly to function. I can turn it by hand but when I use the foot pedal it just hums and does not move the needle assembly. Any thoughts?

Have you thoroughly cleaned it (around the bobbin area, under the feed dogs)? If so, and it still won't run, then perhaps the foot control is defective or the motor.

Lervia sewng machine. material wont feed through. Dogs are up but material just wont move through. needle moving freely.

Hm, could be several things. If stitches are not being formed, it could be a timing issue (the needle does not arrive at the bobbin at the correct time). Did the machine recently hit a pin or something hard? That will knock a machine out of time. There could also be a broken piece stuck that is preventing the feed dogs from operating. Thoroughly clean the machine around the bobbin area and feed dogs.

Every time i step on the foot control the needle goes down to sew amd stays stuck and all the lights are bleenking it wonr sew!! Some one Please Help Me

1. If the machine will move smoothly by turning the hand wheel this means your machine is free.
2. When the machine is on it's way down does the needle hit the side of the hole in the throat plate? If yes you will need to adjust it so it doesn't do this. There are a lot of "how to's" over the internet.
3. Take the bobbin assembly out and try the machine without it. If it moves freely then the assembly needs to be adjusted or the machine needs to be timed. The assembly on most top bobbin load machines must be set so it doesn't move around. There are screws there (two). If it is set so tight to not move this is a problem also. So give it a little slack that a thread can go through with ease.
4. If your belt is out of alignment this could be a real problem with power of the motor being used. Uncover the belt that goes to the motor. Once you have done this so you see the belt try the foot pedal so the motor moves slowly. Loosen the bolts on the motor. Step on the foot control slowly and move the motor around until it moves with the most speed easily. This will adjust the belt in just the right point. Be careful though!

Needle only goes so far then stops like its stuck and wont move at all

Remove the bobbin and try it again, to see if the needle is hitting the bobbin, or something else is stopping it.
Hope this helps.

Simplicity sewing machine SL 9240 was giving to me and when I try to sew the needle keeping hitting the bobbin holderr.

On the right side you have two knobs to make adjustments. The lower knob will move the needle left or right so it won't hit the bobbin holder.

Necchi 3205 FA: Seized

It may not have seized there may be a very small piece of thread jammed in the raceway area, you need to take the bobbin case and the raceway out to check

White sewing machine, model 1777, the needle gets bent, bobbin makes a mess when sewing, won't fed fabric

Oh yuck! this sounds terrible. Sounds like maybe you have two problems going on and feeding into each other. The first problem may be that the machine needs a good cleaning Here's what I'd do:

1. Take apart the bobbin assembly and clean it out completely.
2. Take off the feed dogs if you can (first, you'll need to take off the throat plate.) Clean the feed dogs as thoroughly as possible.
3. Brush out any/all lint, threads, dust, etc.
4. Oil the machine.
5. Make sure you're using the right size needle for the fabric
6. Make sure you're using the right presser foot

The other problem may be that the needle is hitting the throat plate or something else it shouldn't. Using a new needle, slowly move it down to see where it's hitting or rubbing. Check that the needle is inserted as far in as it will go and that it's being held securely.

When you start sewing, hold the upper thread and the bobbin thread together behind the needle so there's no slack. This usually prevents 'bird nests'.

Hope this helps!
