Kenmore king size capacity 90 series

could be thermal overload in motor its a motor protector in the motor when the motor gets hot it cuts power to the motor when motor cools it closes and resets age of drier counts some times you can take drier apart and blow dust out of motor and will fix now if the door is not closing tight vibration can cause door switch to break contact that will do it too most of time motor or relay must be replaced

Model hd456e- when the desired humidity is reached will the dehumidifier stop running?

It should. If not it is defective or undersized for the application.

Start it out at high (moist) setting - it should go off soon. You can then move it slowly to drier settings and see that it runs longer before stopping. Stop when you get to a comfortable setting.

Drier makes humming noise, and won't spin

check for a problem start/run capacitor for the motor
there may be a overload button that has popped out

Amana LE7153WM drier will not start... makes a low humming sound when you push in the select dial to start the drier

Hi John, W/D here.
Most likely scenario: squealing was either a belt or a bearing. Failure to run is probably a broken belt. Gain access to the back of the drier, with the power disconnected. Open the back and check the belt. If broken, replace it, and then rotate the drier by hand, listening for additional squeals and squeaks. If no other issues are noted, replace the back cover, plug it back in and try it out.
Best regards, --W/D--

Dryer just stopped running

2 quick ones come to mind. 1)Check the door limit switch. If it goes open circuit, there will be no operation. 2) Surprisingly, on some driers, there is a hidden fuse in the wiring loom.(referring to the larger driers). If not the problem, does it hum as you press the start? If not, switch off, open panel and trace wiring back and observe for any burned or broken areas.
