My canon printer Pixma mp530 The alarm light wont go off. I trieded turing it off and on but the alarm wont go off. It says Printer errow.

Reseat the printhead.

disconnect it from power for 10 minutes and also check for jammed paper. That should do the trick

try a different cartridge, specially if it is not a new Canon brand cartridge

That error says you have a defective printhead and need to buy a new one. It is QY6-0059-000 and runs around $50.00

hold down stop/reset button for 7 sec. If that doesn't work try holding it down for 14 sec.

Try press and hold reset button for 5+ seconds.

Normal 0 I suggest you get a sheet of Card Stock (Heavy paper) and place it in the feed way. Then press the print button applying a slight amount of pressure on the Card Stock so it will feed through the printer. The reason for this, is in some cases I have been able to clear the paper track of debris that was deposited there over time.
Worth a try, as I have fixed a number of printers this way, saving costly repairs.

Reset Printer Canon MP140, MP160, MP180, MP210, MP220, MP460, MP470, MP500, MP510, MP530, MP600, MP610, MP800, MP820, MP810, MP830, MP960, MP970

1. Turn off the printer
2. Hold the Resume Button (red circle in the triangle), add a printer (click “Power”) an indicator light green.
3. Hold the Power Button, release the Resume Button.
4. Not releasing the Power Button, double click “Resume” and release Both Buttons.
5. Click “Resume” for Four times
6. Once you click “Power”, to confirm the selected action (reset counter absorber). To disable the printer “Power” button to click again.

HI Guys 6A00 error usually cant't be fixed according to the service centre, I was lucky and actually bought an extended warranty, the service centre said that the MP530 are a good printer and worth fixing as they don't see many at all compared to other models and other brands. There was a broken piece of hardware that something to do with the print carriage. cheers vailey
