I have installed the Wacom disk (Pen Tablet Driver) and it is not in my applications folder. I have a Mac and when I go to system preferences under 'Other' it shows Wacom Tablet. I click on it and it gives me a Preferences Error - You cannot open Wacom Tablet preferences because it doesn't work on an Intel-based Mac. What does that mean?

It sounds like you're running an older Mac based on their legacy PowerPC processors, which aren't compatible with software designed for their newer Intel-based series. The last version of Mac OS X to support the PowerPC line of computers was OS X 10.5.8 Snow Leopard.

If you want to be able to open the Wacom application, you'll either need an older version compiled for PowerPC or, more likely, you'll need to purchase a newer Mac, either new or secondhand.

SOURCE: My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

I had the same problem with my Intuos3 on Vista. Tech support suggested the following.

Do this.....Go to Start--->control panel---->system(in classic view)---->device manager--->click on "human interface devices"--->then click on "Wacom virtual HID driver" and right click on that and disable it. Your computer will ask you to restart and you will want to do that.

Everything works fine now.

SOURCE: My Wacom Intuos3 tablet won't switch into pen mode

The winning answer came courtesy of Mr Benedikt Schmitt of Wacom Europe, who offered the following solution: from the Windows Device Manager, disable the “Wacom Virtual Hid Driver” device. (Go to Control Panel > System and Maintenance > Device Manager, find the driver, right-click it and choose “Disable”.) One reboot later (welcome to Windows-land, circa 2008?), everything works as desired. Pressure and tilt sensitivity inside Photoshop still work, and the pen functions just fine in the rest of the Windows desktop. The absolute mapping makes it an absolute pleasure to point quickly and precisely. It makes my laser mouse feel rather clumsy navigating a large 24′ screen!

SOURCE: My Wacom Bamboo Tablet wont detect my pen for some reason

Mabye you should buy a new pen. I had the exact same problem, but I bought a new pen and it worked perfectly. Call first and explain your problem to the website, and they should give you a new pen for free because of warrenty. Go to the WACOM website and look for the phone number in the top-right corner. That is all except to wait for your new pen that should arrive in two or three days tops.

My tablet pen highlights everything on the page

I was given these solutions by Wacom, but still get the same problem or otherwise barely any response at all from the pen:

Regarding the information you provided, we would like to tell that if your Mac OS X's version is between 10.5 to 10.7.4, please proceed to step 1 to troubleshoot the problem. If your Mac OS X's version is 10.8, please upgrade the Mac to 10.8.1 then follow the steps below to start troubleshooting the problem.

1. Reset the tablet driver.

Click on Go > click on Applications > search and open the Bamboo folder > select Bamboo Utility > select All Users under Preferences > click on Remove button under Preferences.

If the problem remains, go to the next step. If it is fixed, do not proceed with the rest of the troubleshooting steps.

2. Set the driver to Pen Mode.

Click on the Apple logo > select System Preference > click Bamboo icon > click Pen tab > on Tracking pane, select Pen Mode > close the Bamboo Preferences.

3. Adjust the Double Click Distance and Tip Feel.

Click on Start > click on All Programs > search and open the Bamboo folder > select Bamboo Preferences > click on the Pen tab > adjust the Double Click Distance to Big and the Tip Feel to Firm > close the Bamboo Preferences.

We hope these information have been useful in resolving your inquiry.

I want to change the settings on my pen and touch on my mac. When i go into the system settings to do it, my mac is searching for a bluetooth tablet when its actually a usb connection.

Wacom Pen Tablet Driver supports all Bamboo tablets, the Graphire4, Graphire Bluetooth & Graphire3 pen tablets, and USB-connected Cintiq 17SX, DTF-720, DTU-710, DTF-521 & DTF-510 pen displays.

For concurrent use with a professional Wacom tablet, install this driver as well as driver version 6.05 or later. These two drivers can be added or removed independently of each other.

My Graphics Tablet Pen Keeps Clicking When I Hover It Over The Tablet Without Touching It, How Can I Fix It?

This sovled my issue using a Mac...
1. Download the latest driver from Wacom http://www.wacom.com/en/CustomerCare/Drivers.aspx
If you already have the pen tablet uninstaller utility, run it. In my case there was a Bamboo Fun folder with a Bamboo Utility inside the applications folder. If you cannot locate it, you need to run the installation of the new driver. Then go to said folder, open the utility, select All User and Remover preferences. THEN select "Remove pen tablet". You will essentially remove the driver you just installed.
Then RESTART your computer, and proceed to re-install the same driver. Issue should be solved.
If not, contact Wacom customer support. 800-922-6613
That fixed it for me. Hope it makes sense.

Pen pressure and scale problems

I also use Intuos 3 tablet, did you already try replacing the tip and reconfiguring the pen to the screen? You can find this in the driver software, it synchronizes the pen and tablet.
If you already tried that, does the problem only occur in Photoshop? Also, check your brush preferences, you can go back to your default settings and see. If talking to Wacom fails, you might have a bad pen or tablet.

Driver donĀ“t work (MacOSX Leopard

Here are the steps that you need to take to fix your issue:

1. Uninstall the current Wacom driver via the Macintosh HD on your desktop--->go into the Applications folder and then the Pen Tablet folder and click on "remove tablet". Once you have done the removal you will want to run a "repair disk permissions on your Macintosh HD.

2. The repair disk permissions can be done via the utilities folder on your Mac HD. Go to "disk utility" and then run it. In that program select the Mac HD and choose "repair disk permissions".

3. After that is completed you will get a message that says permissions repair complete!
At this time you will want to reboot your computer.

4. After rebooting you will want to go and install the latest driver from Wacom's website, www.wacom.com The most current driver is 5.08-2 for the Graphire 3 tablet.

That should do it!

Initial Delay of tablet pen

I had a similar problem with Vista which made the pen/cursor freeze just as the tip was placed on the tablet face.
The problem turned out to be a Vista setting.
I went to Start > Control Panel > Pen and Input Devices.
Then in the Pen Options tab highlight the "Press and Hold" pen action and then press the "Settings..." button. In the dialog box that opens uncheck the "Enable press and hold for right-clicking" check box. Hit "OK".
Worked for me.

Wacom tablet stopped working, blue light on.

Hey I had this problem too with my Bamboo too, I'm not sure if it was anything I changed or whatever but either way the blue light was on but it wasn't registering the pen.

I found a way just minutes ago to fix it however!

Go into 'start', 'all programs', then look for 'pen tablet'. Hopefully you should have this. If not then download the latest driver for your tablet from the wacom website and that should install it.

Next choose 'pen tablet preference file utilty'. Then under 'my preferences' choose to remove. Bingo! All was well in the world again.

This worked for me so hopefully it will for some of you guys too! Good luck!
