- Check for water leaks that may affect connector J9 causing the relevant contacts to short
- Check the motor terminal block (possible problems due to chemical effects of work residuals on the contacts which may cause short-circuiting)
- Replace Card
The answer may be inaccurate because it is not specified appliance model
For most models of Indesit (Hotpoint, Ariston) 'F01' states 'motor triac short circuit- check motor and module connections'. Sorry but it looks like a service call ;-0(
If this has clarified the situation for you and/or assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.

F01 - Short circuit motor triac. most of the time this means you need a new control board. thing to try is to reset machine by switching off at plug for 5 mins then plug in and try again. hope this helps.
Error code F01 indicates a short circuit motor triac.
Thoroughly check all connections on the motor, the motor plug, and the electronic module board..
Look for a broken wire, or a bad connection.

Thankyou.
Error code F01 indicates a short circuit motor triac, this is part of the electronics that control the motor.
What you need to check first of all is the motor.
Remove back panel, undo 2 screws that secure motor, unplug motor lead, and lever motor backwards out of the brackets, don't let go of motor.
Check to see if motor has brushes fitted, if it has , check for shorted brushes and wear,if less than 2-3 mm, then replace.
If after replacing brushes and it still shows F01, then chances are it has blown the pcb, could be expensive, especially if you need to replace the motor.
If no brushes, then pcb is probably faulty.
Plz rate my solution
Thanks.
F01 indicates a short circuit motor triac, this is part of the motor speed control, either in the motor, or the control unit, and as such is something you cannot repair yourself.
It means that you will have to call hotpoint unfortunately.
If it is under 5 years old, then you should be able to get it done under the 5 year guarantee.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.
