Because the Gevalia coffee makers are often offered as a free or reduced price premium for purchasing Gevalia coffees they are not well made and can sometimes have a difficult to repair molding error in the reservoir. I have had very good luck with the Hamilton Beach Brew Station. It is affordable, well made, easy to keep clean and nearly foolproof.

Gevalia doesn't ahve a replacment carafe for their double 12 cup coffee maker. I just called them and they told me this.

There is a hole that goes though the bottom of the water chamber side.
The unit will not leak when there is water in the water chamber. The only reason for water to come out the hole is condensation from making the water. There are no hoses in the water chamber area.

There are 3 seals in your unit that could cause your problem. there is a silicon seal right under the pour-in tray, and two on the top of the tank. one of those is for the thermostat, the other is for the sprayhead tube. any of these could leak, causing water to come out the bottom of the brewer. One other thing that can cause this is a scale buildup between the pour-in tray and the tank.
