DCR-DVD105 DVD screen is black.....have sound but no picture

The problem is that DVD disks simply never worked in cameras, that is why Sony no longer make old cameras that use DVD, Hard-Drive cameras have same problems, grab a digital 8 camera (tapes) they do work, and picture is best on tape too.

Try to use a cotton swap to 1st clean the recording lens or blow gently on it. Place an empty disc in, format the disc, record a little scene. Turn off camcorder. Place the error disc in the camcorder, turn on the camcorder all the way to play/edit. If this doesn't work turn it to record and try to record. Worked for some of my error disc

I recommend u Pavtube DVD Ripper which always helps me convert dvd to any other formats, such as avi, wmv, mp4, mpeg, etc. which can be playback on my pc.

go to www.sony.com/dapc. type in the model number of your camcorder there and look for dvd application software.

Try this:
Play back a recently recorded scene through the viewing screen. Make sure any "mute" setting is turned off and turn the volume up. If you can hear the sound, the problem is not in the camera. Also, run through your menu's audio settings to make sure that they are set correctly.
If you can't hear any sound, repeat the process with an external mike attached. If this gives you sound, the camera's built in mike is defective. Time to hand it in for repair.
If you still can't hear any sound, something else is wrong with the camera. Again, send it in for repair.

Didu flick it from cam to video?

There is 2 possibilities, either aperture of camera jammed and doesn't open or CCD Imager got defective in your Sony DCR-DVD105 camcorder.
