How do I know when the chair has charged? I see one red, two green, two yellow lights on.

Phil the red means battery is low and the green is a speed limit code because of the low battery if you have charged your batteries and you still get the red then you need to check the charger after charging all night does the yellow light on the charger turn green? if when you first plug in the charger if the red light is on and the other light is green then there is a problem with the wiring or connection to the batteries from the charger and you aren't charging the batteries. if when you plug the charger in and you get a red and yellow light then the charger is working but you don't ever ge a green light and the battery level gauge is still showing red then you need to replace the batteries Hope this helps

doug then you could have received a bad battery or you have a charger problem or a charger circuit problem. If the chair comes on then the wiring is ok. when you plug the charger in do you have a green light and a yellow light on the charger? (when fully charged the light goes from yellow to green indicating full charge) If when you plug the charger in and you have a red and green light then there is a problem with the charging citcuit. Sweet you do not need to leave the charger plugged in for several days. Sounds like there is a charger problem When you first plug the charger in with batteries depleted you should be getting a red and yellow light with the yellow turning green when fully charged. now the charger (built in) could have become unplugged from the power module located in the rear of the chair behind the black cover. To get to it you have to remove the seat, shroud and batteries then using a phillips screwdriver and adjustable wrench remove the black cover. The charger cord will be the last one on the left with a small 4 pin white plastic plug make sure it is well seated in the power module. If it isn't loose then you have a problem with the charger or the circuit. Now if you know of a friend that has an off board charger for a chair or scooter that you can borrow you can charge the batteries using the charger port located under the front of the joystick Plug the charger into the port then into the wall socket and let er rip Charge until the light turns green overnite is a good habit to get into If the onboard charger is bad I would suggest you by an offboard charger (cheaper) Now if Medicare paid for your Dads Chair then they will pay for any repairs even batteries and you can contact the provider that your dad got the chair from to see if they will repair it Hope this helps

When the lights go back and forth on your joystick that means the chair knows its pluged in .Now the chair itself has a built in charger that is mounted on the back of your chair .The back of the chair ,there is a opening a cutout in the frame .when you plug in your chair there will be a red light and a yellow ,yellow means the chair is charging, wait till it turns green,this means fully charged.When you plug in the chair youll see the lights through that hole.Look for the lights.

I recommend my customers to leave there chair charging over night look at the light it will be green when you turn the chair on the joystick should show fully charge.

Don your charger is probably not charging the batteries. When you charge your chair overnite the charger should have a red and green light showing charge complete. When you first plug it in the lights should be red and yellow. If you are getting a red and green light when you first plug it in then there is a problem with the charger or with the charging circuit to the batteries. You should have a charger port on the battery box try plugging the charger into that port and see if you can get the batteries charged. When you do you should have a red and yellow light on the charger changing to red and green when fully charged. Hope this helps

sounds like a charger inhibit problem. Whenever you charge your chair the charger inhibit shuts down the chair so it can't be moved while charging. If you are getting this then that function is not working. Lets try this if you know of someone who has a chair or scooter with an off-board charger see if you can borrow it. Plug the off-board charger into the charger port located under the front of the joystick (don't have the on-board charger plugged in) and then turn the charger on. turn the chair's power on and you hopefully will see the lights blinking again indicating a charger plugged in (charger inhibit) the lights on the charger should be red and yellow (yellow turning green when fully charged) If you still get the problem with the off-board charger then your problem is in the controller or power module and this requires a new one. If Medicare paid for your chair you can call Repair Xpress @ 1-877-81-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have them fix it for you and bill Medicare for most of the repair costs. Will you don't say what chair you have and they can all be wired differently. Look under the shroud that covers your batteries and see if there isn't a wiring diagram there. If you let me know the brand ie: Pride Jazzy, Invacare M51 etc. I can give you the proper wiring for the batteries. Now you also didn't say if you charged the batteries after you installed them. Remember always charge before use. Just because they are new doesn't mean they are charged (in fact they could have sat on the shelf for a while). Make sure that they are no older than 4 months old even new batteries can be bad. Charge these puppies overnite. When you plug in the charger you should see a red and yellow light after charging overnite you should see a red and green light( indicating full charge) If when you plug the charger in you get a red and green light then something isn't wired correctly. Eduardo After using your chair and the battery level lights are down with yellow or red lights showing just plug the chair into the wall socket and let er rip. Now really after using your chair during the day and you are ready for bed just plug in the charger and let it charge over night. In the morning unplug the charger and you should be set for the day. If you don't use the chair everyday always put it up with a full charge and about once a week plug it in and let it charge overnight. Never leave the chair plugged in all the time and never leave it for more that 24 hours. The charger has two lights on it one red and one yellow or green that are hard to see because they are under the rear cover. When the chair is fully charged the yellow light turns green and you can unplug the charger and you should have a full charge. Hope this helps you

on my m51 the lights on the charger are red and green the green is flashing what is this telling me.also should i have the controller on when i plu in the charger my chair i 6 years old battery replaced 2 years ago
