No dial tone and also all the lights are flickering, please Help!
My three phones have no dial tone and also all the lights are flickering on the phone. I called my telephone company and they tell me that all the lines are good. Please Help!!
I have the same problem for the third time! We purchased this phone system 4 years ago and this is the third phone that has gone bonkers on me! All the other phones in the office are fine but since this one is the one that programs our whole office phone system, I will have to replace it yet again!! The unplugging and plugging back in doesn't work with this phone and didn't with the other two phones either. I suspect that it was a power surge. We had severe thunderstorms over the weekend. I suspect that this phone is especially sensitive to power surges. Any way to protect it? It just plugs into the phone system, no power cord is involved so a surge protector won't help.I have the same problem for the third time! I have the same problem, Is there a reset? When I plug it in another phone (series) it seem that the Norstar is working but there is no Dial tone. There is an interference noise, and it tels me that the Nostar line is on but cannot hear anything.

At an educated guess sounds like dial tone is set to decadic if there are two phones the other phone will set off ringer when numbers dialed. May need to get phone provider to change dial mode in exchange line interface circuit to be Dual tone Multi Frequency Dialing and then switch phones to Tone dialing rather than pulse dialing.
I think you need help from your telco, not from me. This looks like a local loop problem if you have no dial tone. Call your telco and say, "No dial tone, no internet". They will dispatch repair..
1) When the phone is in standby mode, press and hold the caller id/menu key. 2) Press the vol/ / key three times to select Dial. 3) Press the select key to toggle between Tone and Pulse. 4) Press the end key or return the handset to the base unit to complete the setting. The handset returns to standby mode. This phone also has a feature that allows you to use Pulse dialing to make calls, but allows you to switch to tone dialing for automated systems (like “Please Press 1 for English) here are the steps for that: Initially make your call with the pulse dialing mode. Once your call connects, press the */tone key. Enter the desired number. These digits will be sent as tone dialing. Once the call ends, the tone mode is canceled and pulse dialing mode resumes.
Dial Tone comes back even after I dial the phone! Question:
Why does my phone allow me to dial a number, hear the numbers being dialed and then go back to a dial tone? Help me I want to call out! Answer:
Sir the you are dialing on needs to have the other dial mode in operation. You have the ability to change dial mode on your phone. Instructions to change dial mode are usually at the beginning of the manual under install /set up the phone. If you are currently using pulse, please change the mode to tone. If using tone please change the mode to pulse. Doing this will allow you to call out. answer found on www.uniden.com
Do your Dial tone sound different. Your phone listens to the dial tone. if you have a new voice mail your dial tone changes.and your phone does the flashy thing accordingly. Contact your phone company.
What are you getting when you try to dial out? Sounds or display wise?
How are you dialing out? Do you access a line, dial 9 from intercom? The dial tone is probaly the phone system generated dial tone.
