Whirlpool Duet Dryer (2yrs old) Light buld died and dryer won't start. We changed bought a new light bulb but the dryer still doesn't start. The computerized buttons still litght up though.

Sometimes when a bulb goes out or is replaced the unit can short out.

Try holding your end of cycle signal button for 5 seconds, watch the light, if you control lock it, it will light but will not run because control lock is a safety feature.

Also try pushing door in and starting it, might be bad latch

POSSIBLY BAD DOOR SWITCH OR AT LEAST THE PART OF IT THAT TURNS LIGHT ON AND OFF. IT SHOULD BE A 3 BLADE SWITCH 1 ON ONE END AND 2 ON OTHER OR YOU HAVE NOT SCREWED BULB IN FAR ENOUGH. i HAD TO CHANGE MY BULB TOO WHEN NEW ONE INSTALLED I DIDN'T TURN IT FAR ENOUGH IT WAS STIFF GETTING IT IN.

Dryer will not start after bulb burned out.

moch, the fact that the light is staying on when the door is closed leads me to believe that the door switch is the culprit. If that switch is not made you will not start. See if the pin is broken off. Start there and let me know. Catriver.
