Hi. i have had funny noises during last couple of washes. now washer wont drain programs are responding fine but washer keeps filling up and not draining.water backed up and came out of the drawer hotpoint aquarius wf 320 any ideas please

This is symptomatic of an intermittent malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else ;-0(

Solved: There was a piece of fabric caught in the water drain pump. Opened the cap at the back bottom right of the washer and pulled it out. Worked fine after that.

It's in the drain hose somewhere,during the fill the water gets as deep in the drain hose as it does in the washer,during the wash the pump runs in reverse keeping the water level in the hose low,during the drain the hose is filled again.
Prop the washer up in front on a couple bricks or boards,start putting in water until it starts to leak and take a peak under the machine.

The reason for your washing machine not to spin would be of a faulty motor coupling.

If the washer will fill and drain, but won't agitate or spin, you may have a broken motor coupling. The noise of the motor engaging, lack of agitation and ability to still drain are the usual symptoms. This is a common fail item with this model washer through normal wear and tear. Newer versions of the coupler are more resilient and resist breaking

The motor coupling is located between the drive motor and the transmission and takes the place of a drive belt. They do wear out and can break. The replacement part number is included in the link I provided and is an improved upgraded coupling that is more resilient. It should last longer. this is probably a bad motor coupling, you have to take the cabinet off, then the drain pump, then the motor, the coupling is located between the motor and the trans

Pr obably a coupling between the motor and gear box, Take motor off and coupling will come out, re place it and it should be fine

Hi, the water valve is defective, to make sur unplug the washer 117 electrical corde from the wall and look if it still fill up, if yes then u can be sure that the inlet valve is defective, juste replace the valve and ur home free.. wish u well, Alain

check to see if your drain hose is too far down in the stand pipe this will siphon water out as it fills.

the humming noise could be from two sources and it is worth while doing a few simple checks first the drain pump is jammed with a foreign object. check nothing caught in the impellor second water not available - check taps turned on. also turn water off, undo fill hoses, put in a bucket and turn water back on try on drain or spin programs to check water drainage as well
