GE over the range microwave buzzing then blowing fuse

If the buzzing is like the sound of someone using an arc welding then the is a possible loose connection on the high voltage side- from the HV transformer to the magnetron.

Be very careful. The HV capacitor can give you an electric shock even when power is OFF.

Whirlpool MH1160XSB-3 sparked from the right? inside wall toward food & then the microwave stopped running. No clock, no power. Could it be a fixable magnetron issue? Or should I start shopping?

There is inline fuse about $10..0 a diode for about $15.00 and the magnatron is about $150.00. Unless you possess all the tools required to disassemble test and replace defective parts it probably a better choice to replace it.. A new similar unit is about $270.00 at Lowe's

Power went out, unplugged for awhile and still no power (checked house breaker and wall socket with another unit and power seems fine). Is their a fuse that could need replaced?

With the model number, I could have given you specific tips.

Without it, I can only tell you that it could be a fuse or one of the thermostats.

Kenmore microwave 911 41479791 no power?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
No Lights or Power, Unit seems Dead First check is the main fuse of the unit. On countertop units, you will need to take the shell off. The fuse will be close to where the cord comes through into the unit. OTR units, this main fuse is usually behind the control panel or possibly behind the vent. Usually the fuse is obvious if blown, otherwise test with an OHM meter, if open, replace fuse.
Some brands will also have a thermal cut-off fuse in the incoming voltage line to the control board. Older Maytags and Samsungs have this fuse in it. This thermostat looking fuse is usually above the oven cavity somewhere under the outside shell. Sometimes you can get to it through the vent of OTR models. Test with an OHM meter, replace if open.

My Whirlpool over-the-oven microwave generated a "pop" sound and red flash last night -- it seemed to come from the left side, where there is a grid of small circular vent holes -- while warming...

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.

This can be normal, if you have grease or food stuck on the side walls, just clean entire oven area,

some cooking containers are more apt to causing sparking than others.

If it does it again, i would suggest you call a service company, But your unit can be replaced for around $150.00. So I dont know if it would be worth it.

We had a power surge and now the microwave does not work, model number MH1160XSB-0 whirlpool, what could be the problem? We put a fuse in and it kept blowing.

Model MX6110XB. Nothing worked. LCD panel was dead. Unplugged and replugged; and everything works.

This fix described for the GE Spacemaker. They say problem result of a power surge. Apparently applies to different manufacturers; or does GE make Whirlpools?

Magic Chef Over the Range, MicroOven, model MCO153UBF

I tried the usual things, then checked the outlet in the cupboard where the unit is plugged in.....It was okay, but then I noticed a separate electrical cable going into the wall at the outlet. I went to the breaker box downstairs, found a breaker marked "Microwave Oven", flicked it off and on and away the microwave oven went....It is now okay. I guess the thermostat had turned everything off when it became too hot....
anyway all okay now....thx Janet
