There is a chance that you may have a couple bad capacitors on the power-inverter board but more than likely the problem will be a shorted out transistor. There are 4 on the inverter side of the board and one set may have gone bad. Capacitor problems may have caused the transistors to fail. Transistors are probably c5706 or c5707 and are black with 3 legs going though the board.
You would have to open it up to check and would need an ohm meter to verify if the transistors are shorted out.

Power up show the pc name and then it trun it self off trun it back on and I cant even get the meun to show up

need to replace two capacitors on the ccfl side of the main power board. CCFL is where 4 plugs from the lights in the LCD plug in. You will see brown or burned capacitors, which were probably blue. One on each side of the board. The replacement part is Digi-Key Part Number P9643-N. This is a known issue with gateway monitors.

LCD Screen blank

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Acer monitor only display for about 3 to 4 second

Sounds like a busted syncing circuit, probably due to a condenser. It takes about that time to heat or overcharge, at which point a safety feature will turn off the display.

You just MIGHT get some more life hours out of the monitor by tuning it to a lower resolution, but it will buy you a month even in the best hypothesis.

I'm afraid the monitor is in for a repair/replacement.

Problem with 17" ViewSonic Monitor

The same problem w/ my viewsonic E70 17" monitor. The viewmeter or viewmatch color on screen do not appear when power ON, although the green led power is ON.

But if you rest your monitor for about 10 hrs or more the viewmeter will appear when you power ON the monitor.

You can now start your CPU.

Remember : No viewmeter screen on monitor when power ON, means no supply coming out the picture tube or high voltage.

But if there is Viewmeter on screen , this normal and OK>
